BeEP
Mk1 Uno in Frome which was on Gumtree for £50? If so, well done getting a 40% reduction and totally worth it for the orange interior! If not, this is a completely pointless post. Burnside and Aston Martin

Popular Post Steve79
Thanks for the amusing replies Gumtree, i'm blaming this one on you again. BAD GUMTREE!!! Never, EVER, idly browse the parts section because it's more than likely you'll find things that you absolutely must buy but shouldn't. And so, unwise browsing has lead me to mid somerset to view this Its a 1989 Fiat Uno 55s registered in Jan '89 with 94k on the clock and has been parked in a dry garage for over 15 years under a dust cover not turning a wheel since. The owner is a real character and is a true petrol head who is very much into early to late 50's motorbikes and took great pride in showing me a 1952 BSA that he'd just bought. He's also had around 8 Uno's over the years and this was the last. When he got it he had stored away a complete interior from the plusher 70sx model which he fitted. Unfortunately he had a slight accident when welding the sill and managed to set the fuel pipe alight, which in turn burnt the doorcard and fabric on the drivers bolster. His wife is a bit handy with a sewing machine and not only whipped up a set of new covers for the whole interior, but did all of the door cards to match. The covers are actually stitched onto the seat seams and cannot be removed. BeholdGiving Vulg a run for his money. Disturbingly i think these look rather nice! Authentic barn find cobwebs Rear doors are a bit crispy but fortunately repair panels are availlable cheaply Phat tunes curtosey of Roadstar Love the adjustable ashtrays/storage Treasure! How switch gear should be I didn't get any photos of underneath but it all seems pretty solid as the PO has liberally applied wax oil EVERYWHERE! It did have a slight issue - Electrics are completely dead which the PO said was due to a faulty starter solenoid. Turning the ignition key gave no response and dash was dead, which surely pointed at something more serious. On that note with a piss take offer of £30 accepted (listed at £50) it was collected this afternoon on a flatbed and delivered back to sunny Bristol. Me and my mate have spent the last 3 hours mucking around with it, cleaning the electrical connections on the fuse box and and have finally got the engine turning over. The dash gauges are still non functional and there is no spark but we think we've got to the bottom of the non starting and partially dead electrics. The coil is toast and the ignition switch fell to pieces as soon as it was removed. Inside it was filthy and heavily corroded. Top of the list at the moment is a new coil and ignition switch so we can at least get the thing running. Updates soon purplebargeken, oldcars, BeEP and 63 others
bramz7
Bloody heck that interior was worth the £30 if not the Uno surrounding it. Good save. D Spares & Tyres and Laseraligningfoofooflanges

Peter C
That’s more like it! Unlike contemporary Fiestas and Novas, I recall these little Fiats resisted rust relatively well. Broadsword
That's a really cool looking Fiat, I like the styling. Also the interior is rather special. If Autoshite ever expands into selling wallpaper then it should be the pattern on those seats! ProgRocker

Post '90 mk2 Uno's were well galvanised so resisted the rot. Mk1's are right little rot monsters.

RoadworkUK
Did Unos actually have two slidey ashtray things, or was the PO trying to collect them all? I say add more if you get a chance. Best thing I've seen on AS all week. Well, all evening, anyway.
