This just in from Al Bundy!!!

That's why someone had stuck 69 on the arch cover, it's almost shagged....

So what's the plan are you searching military surplus for RB44 bits or it Mr Bundy going to work some magic and fab up a new inner and outer? Either way can we have lots of pictures please.?

Anyway I concur with your thinking - anything else you can buy has a good chance of being just as bad but with chicken wire and bog thrown into the holes, might as well fix what you have

Holy fukkbiskits..... that arch would make me weep. Best of luck AB - serious amount to be taken on. Really hoping there's a fair amount of how tos - if at all possible - as themfab work needed will be awesome to see.

Best of luck.....

I think its going to have to be pretty much 100% fabricated.

I have been trying to source a pair of these Dodge B200 rear arches from the states to use as a front arch repair section:

Theyre not that expensive to buy, but due to the size (over 1.2m long) I cant get em shipped for less than several hundred dollars which is no good. I wish I had investigated this before my work sent me off to the states a couple of weeks back, as I could have fetched them back with me on the flippin plane.

People are having cars shipped over all the time, could you not make some enquiries and see if you could get them chucked in the back of a car for transport? Maybe not ideal if you're working towards a deadline etc I do know some people who tend to bring over a container or two of parts/cars every year so might be able to put you in touch if you get stuck

Beaten to it - but as Barrett said - a mate of mine and I used to troll the local US import place. They're usually pretty open to lobbing in a panel/parts or two with their latest 'barn finds'. Got cheaper the more rotten we did it too...... mind you - his Dodge was an absolute horror.

I've got a friend who's father works at RAF Alconbury.  Would you like me to ask?

Yeah defo!!! I’m certainly open to any innovative ideas!

I can just see the RAF dropping a couple of repair panels out, during a memorial flight fly past with the Lancaster, a bit like they did with Douglas Bader's spare leg when he was a POW

Hi, What about trailer mudguards cut in half lengthways and will do both sides, just like the Spedeworth guys do.

/\ Problem with that is that 50-series front arches are nowhere near round, so those would take a lot of pissing about with to get to fit properly.

Are you on the Dodge50 Facebook group Mr B? I'm sure someone has figured out what available arches have the nearest profile already - apologies if the concentrated wisdom is indeed those above.

Actually is it worth a search with a Renault part no to check if any dealer has old stock (if their parts system works that way)

They say a journey of 10,000 miles begins with a single step etc etc etc

Theres few things more satisfying in life (to a bald middle-aged office dweller) than receiving a 5.30pm whatsapp off Al Bundy with a few welding pictures in!!!

he doesn't piss about does he? I like to envisage a future where I'm self employed and can just choose to work more hours and earn money in order to pay someone else to do all the shit awkward welding jobs like this, and just keep the glory jobs for myself like fitting a brand new rear quarter panel or something, one where people go "wow" but you've had to do minimal scratting about upside down on the floor to get the job done

Lifelong Dodge 50 fancier like.  Loving this thread.
