Robinmaster's Rover Streetwise - Roffle Bonanza!

I now require a more practical car.

Is there such a thing?

I have absolutely no interest in the car, but were those pics taken at Tesco's Park Farm store?

Delivered there many times.

They were indeed. 100 yards from the car park car wash-a more picturesque setting would have meant a dirtier car!

Paging FatHarris to the Streetwise phone.

You really hate your brother still having his bollocks, don't you?

I thought he was in enough grief over winning that Kia Magentis roffle.

£5 fix for the heater speeds (one of the first things I did on mine), 5 minute job to swap out

Anyroad, this needs keeping in the Autoshite family. Streetwise numbers are in freefall at present, and the prices in the second hand market are creeping up steadily, no doubt influenced by a 'Future Classic' article on Honest John. https://classics.honestjohn.co.uk/news/comment/2017-06/future-classic-friday-rover-streetwise/

Mine seems a bargain now at £400.

My 1.4 petrol gobbles up long journeys and they're not an unpleasant place to sit in. Great fun to chuck around winding roads - they sit between the 25 and the ZR in terms of 'sportiness', although not sure about the dizzla versions - L-series engine should run forever.

A lot of love for Streetwises on the Facefart group https://www.facebook.com/groups/543525492402003/ so if you have trouble shifting it here, you shouldn't have any problem finding a buyer on there.

That quote sums up the British Motor Industry, and especially BL (and the remnants afterwards) perfectly. Shitty heater resistors were a problem on the bleedin' Triumph TR7, and almost 30 years later, we still couldn't build the sodding things properly.

At least it's a nice simple system which can be replaced/repaired for peanuts. Way better than the transistorised speed control of a lot of other modernz which fails in some fairly amusing* ways.

This would surely roffle very easily as it seems ideal rofflefodder.

From what I gather, the only car he'd be allowed to replace the Rover with was one of these. Plus what a looker it is!

As per the title, this attractive *RARE* vehicle is up for roffle. £11 per ticket!

*No swapz for games consoles, class-B drugs, or an hour with your tracksuited girlfriend etc

You know how it works, pick random/specific number(s), winner decided on the bonus ball of the next lottery draw after all tickets are sold and monies paid.

Full details of the car in this thread, but to recap 2.0l manual diesel in ignition blue. Optional fifth seat, electric front windows, electric mirrors, air conditioning, standard Rover CD player. 103k, MOT until February 2019.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I put a bottle of water on the passenger seat this afternoon, and it leaked. It's ok, I've put a towel down. More news as we get it.

Posted

Pour tap water on the seat to stop the bottled water staining it.

Filling up nicely, but still a way to go. Clearly not destined to be drawn tonight, but Wednesday could be possible.

The car you've always promised yourself. The drive of your life. The ultimate driving machine. The power of dreams. Strength through joy. Smells like a steak and seats 35. It's all of these things*, and more.

Economical, fast-ish, and with plastic bits on. Do yourself a favor and buy a ticket.

*not in any literal sense

Am I right in thinking that these have two seats in the back rather than three? Or is that just the three door version?

As standard, yes. This has the *rare* optional extra fifth seat. With a seat belt.

Bump for a lovely motor - come on chaps, get around this!
