Good news Bren.

Sleepless nights only last the first couple of decades. :-)

Vodafone are brilliant, been with them for about 5 years. Every contract-renewal they give me a deal, however my current phone of 10 months just died.  :-(

Contract phones have warranty, so it got sent off last Saturday and it came back yesterday.

I just went to get it. "They couldn't repair your phone, heres a new one... sign here and fuck off."

(He didn't tell me to fuck off, but I was in and out, no hassle or anything. I was expecting them to lie and cover their arse.)

Just a shame theres no Vodafone signal outside of any city. :(

Yeah, I was with them and the service was professional, the voice signal was good but data of any sort was absolutely atrocious.

I went from using 2GB a month with O2 to <100MB because the data coverage was so poor. I don't live or work out in the sticks or anything, less than a mile from the M1 and near major cities etc etc.

When the contract was up I told them to ram it up their arse and went with EE, it's fantastic signal wise. I can reliably stream Spotify or music off my home media server to my car stereo wherever I am.

I can't help thinking that, even if Ashdown puts his hands up and says "I made it up for a laugh" DC will always be remembered for this.

Possibly interesting, possibly a touch rabid too http://theleveller.org/2015/09/british-really-laughing/

Meanwhile...

More Darwin in action?

How could he make it up? Never in my wildest imagination would I think of that. I've now got disgusting images in my head-need to wait for next private eye for the best jokes though. The thing is, everyone knows it's true.

He obviously wanted to join every hoorayhenry, nouveau Riche club going to advance his future career. Who can say it didn't work? BUT, he forgot that there were other people ( obv. All male)present with memories, and in this case photos. I am sure Freud would have had a field day with all this.

Edit. I've just read that leveller piece, and it didn't sound rabid at all. The thing is David Cameron has no shame ( goodness knows how the poor pig felt) so will be with us for years yet.

If you've got an Android phone, get yourself an £8 "Google Cardboard" viewer to watch videos like that. Awesome. Like a really pikey Oculus Rift.

My son is home from hospital at last.

Sleepless nights beckon from now on.

Bit late but that's great news. The sleepless nights might seem bad now but it's all worth it in the end

Then Blake and I went on the beach. It might be the first time he's ever seen the sea, he didn't know what to make of it. Then paddled in it, then splashed around and tried to eat the sea. He also tried rock scrambling and fell in the sea which he thought was brilliant. Happy dog. Best day EVER.

Just been catching up with the beige pages... this has made me grin the most of anything recently. I've never met Blake but he seems like my kinda dog.

Well in, pup.

Helping a friend move house. £10 bargain from Sue Ryder! The wardrobe on the roof was cheap too.

Laura, a young lady who sits near me at work, is wearing a rather nice and not very long skirt today. She also has the legs to make it work as it should.

Sorry all, but you aren't going to get any pictures.

Pictures or we'll all assume Laura is in your head and you're actually staring at a colleague called Brian.

Just dropped the paint guy off at home and asked him to quote for the repairs to my Honda. The first one I pointed out to him he couldn't even see, the second one he said wasn't worth doing and the third one was the only one he thought needed doing!

He called me 'the fussiest sod he's ever met!'

He's still going to do all three though 'cos I insisted... £200.

It's Friday and it's a car weekend.......... unusually I'm booked into two shows so looking forward to having unknown MoPs slag my car off. I may even be able to pass off some new bullshit facts if any suitable punters turn up.

Kettering Vintage and Steam tomorrow and Pistons and Props on Sunday so if you're there say hello........

The "Notice to Owner" for my parking in a loading bay PCN arrived today.

Why the grin? While preparing my appeal I've noticed that it isn't a valid bay because they've messed up the road markings making it non-compliant! Too narrow, no double dashes to mark the end and not marked into individual bays. Ah, what a shame.

:D Two grounds for appeal!

I'm pinching this. It might come in handy. Needs a few other things adding though...

What made me grin about the most recent Clio breakdown (not that it's had many, right enough) was how quickly I resolved it, when it could've easily turned disastrous. The day of the Foo Fighters gig in Edinburgh, I got up late having worked the night before. No probs, it's fuelled and we're ready to go. Well the humans were, the car wasn't. Would not start. Turned over okay, but...

Then I realised I couldn't hear the fuel pump. Cracked the multimeter out, checked a few things and worked out the relay was dead. Ran to Arnold Clark's, bought a new one, fitted it, success. Not much of an epic really, but I'm quietly pleased, and it averted a disaster.

Double grin was that my bro's fiancee was on the way out to drive up and collect us. Not needed in the end, but the thought was nice.

This popped up on my Facebook today. Conversations if a dog could text (human green, dog white). There were a few which had me in stitches, but this one is far more AS relevant...

At long last. I managed to get hold of issue 1 of practical sportsbikes for much less than £64.50 that I saw one being offered for.

I did have issue 1, but it was in a bag that was stolen.

Would a good machine polish be worth doing then?probably less than painting.
