What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

That garage looks massively bleak. Not threatening, just utterly utterly dismal.

Shitefest.fr '16 venue?

After me and mrs fp had our tea at a local steakhouse we hadn't tried yet, we went for a random drive just to enjoy driving around, on our travels I spotted this lovely little garage forecourt

As a bonus there was a mk1 Mondeo parked up around the side

it`s France.....

just about every small French town I`ve seen looks like this. But never any sign of life anywhere. ( I`ve only been halfway down by the way )

That's pretty accurate. France is one big shitefest in terms of cars and buildings. Walking around Lake Geneva is hilarious. You instantly know when you've crossed the border from Switzerland to France. It's like walking into a zombie apocolypse.

I bloody love it though. Sod the autoroutes. To really see France, get well away from the highway.

Grin 1:  The NHS.

Grin 2:  I was at an actually 'celebrity bash' last night.  The sort that gets written up in newspapers and celeb watching magazines/websites.  I think we left before the hardcore celebs arrived (but after the actual point of the evening) and I wouldn't have recognised most of them but I did get to wander around a new building with Janet Ellis off of Blue Peter. (Didn't speak to her mind...)

That's what my Dad says and he even has a giffer spec collection of pre-autoroute Route National maps for the purpose. He will also always tell you to be careful on French roundabouts because years ago the driver on the roundabout had priority and the old people sometimes get mixed up. Hence all the roundabouts have a little sign 'Vous n'avez pas la priorite'.

Its rare to see people stopping on the roundabout now, the problem with roundabouts here now is lane discipline. Le Highway Code states that they should be taken as you would take a UK one (obviously the opposite way though) ie outside lane for right and straight over and inside lane for left and all the way round, which makes perfect sense. Then the very next line of the Code literally says "Or, do whatever the fuck you want" so everyone either straight-lines the lanes or uses the outside lane for all directions.

Fairly impressed with this. Put my Kia Venga in for warranty work (motor driver power steering needing software update). Just been sent this video.  (Spot the Gordon Bennet recommended Uniroyal Rain Expert 3's):  http://video.citnow.com/vtB952ZbFBq

It must be the in thing now. My lad took his Corsa for it's first service and got a walk round video from the mechanic.

First day at my new job (only doing Thursday and Friday till college ends) was good spent all day filling and rubbing an XJ6. These two were behind and I got to drive the purple one a whole 10 feet!
