What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Towing dollies are the work of the devil, I had a relatively professionally made one about 25 years ago and it was more trouble than it was worth. The sight of the underside of a car in the mirror is unnerving to say the least.

That Nimrod with the Clio is further proof that care in the community doesn't work. I wonder where he'd draw the line? Lucky it was only a Trafic not a Master or Winnebago.

ROFL just watched some fat chav woman dent the entire side of her 62 plate people carrier on a fence post while trying to reverse into an (enormous) space. She then got out and started complaining! Haha, you do wonder how some people managed to pass their driving test.

Perfectly normal behaviour nowadays.....

Fat chav. Do something stupid. Complain loudly. Sue and receive compensation. Spend compo on greasy food and tatooes. Get fatter and chavier. Have more kids. Repeat.

:-)

It not going on the dolly was a sign he should have given up right then.

That Clio-Trafic tragedy doesn't even bear thinking about.  I hope it was a daft stunt for YouTube.

I was watching that hoping it wasn't going to turn into a snuff movie...

Watched an episode of the young ones last night on gold.

The one where Neil joined the police - he was banging on a door shouting "open up - it's the pigs".

Alexi Sayle was dressed up as Benito Mussolini - very funny.

Alexei's "Making stupid noises" song is one of my favourite things ever  :-D

That towing video is wonderful.

"So this is going on the internet next week, is it?"

"No! No!"

"You reckon [the trailer light bar] will sit in there alright?"

[trailer light bar immediately falls off with impeccable comic timing]

Hazarding a guess that the clio is a diesel. I have never drove one but know someone who has and he said it was the most lethargic car he ever had. God knows how of went on with that camper on the back. Tail wagging dog certainly. Wonder how it would have coped either on slack hill out of Matlock or the snake pass. Even on a straight road his arse must have been twitching

Owner probably can't decide between the green of the car or the blue of the arches.

Anyway....

My disco decided to play deado when I parked up in town today. Nothing at all from the starter motor. Rather surprisingly it turns out you can bump start a TD5 with all the electronic gubbins.

Finished the 30 day work out thing I was whinging about in the grumpy thread. Still no change but I feel like I have achieved something. Louise2cv in "not such a lazy cow after all" shocker!

I am going to start it again tomorrow because even if I'm not getting skinny I do feel fitter.

Crapping myself about run 1 of week 4 couch to 5k later on though.

I did enjoy the video of the monkeys uncle hooking up the old Traffic, looked like he was performing a tribute to a WW1 Mark 1 tank reversing out of a shell crater with a Gatling gun caught up in the undercarriage.

He's why Vosa will deep-probe the bottom of anyone caught using an A-frame, but credit to him for inexplicably still showing a full compliment of limbs and digits.

The way he took it in his stride was entertaining like everytime he uses it something goes wrong and he can't figure out why.

I got let out of an awkward junction this morning by the driver of a new Bentley Continental Flying Spur. The car was filthy, and rocking non-personal Belfast number plates. I waved my thanks and he gave me the thumbs up. He must secretly crave a Rover 25. :D

I saw what I'm pretty sure was a genuine Lotus Carlton parked up outside a garage on a quick trip to the shops this lunchtime, unfortunately by the time I was coming back and had a camera primed and ready to go it had buggered off.

I got let out of akward junction by a Ferrari F355 Spyder, the car was fairly clean rocking a standard-issue Belgian numberplate. He gave me a cheery thumbs up too after I simply waved my thanks. He must secretly crave a dull-looking Volvo V40 Diesel.

Since its been nice weather this week I've been using the R4 for a few local bits and bobs. The amount of love it gets is ace. Went to drop Lobster Jnr #1 at nursery in it, one of the other dads remarked on how cool it was then coming out and the woman who owns the place came out to tell me how much she liked it.

Went into town and got a big thumbs up from two guys in a Transit too.

Old cars R cool.

Was just packing up to go to bed about an hour ago when there was a flash of blue light. Naturally I assumed a prowler had accidentally passed his torch across my window and I would shortly be murdered, but then there was a rumble. A thunderstorm.

For the first few minutes there was no rain, just massive lighting bolts ripping through the sky directly above me, which was amazing. I grabbed my camera, but they were all over the place. Still, I got one photo.

After a few minutes of this light show, the rain arrived. I thought about getting myself an umbrella before remembering what a lightning conductor was. Instead, like the freshly washed and sun dried boot carpet I forgot to bring in, I just stood there and got soaked watching the light show.

Someone on FaceAche is trying to sell a 2001 Rover 25 for £1,000. As if that's not bad enough, apparently 'This car is a rare limited edition model with Twin Cam Lotus S Engine' (K Series)

That being the case, I think I'll advertise my Corsa with the single cam Lotus Carlton 1.0 engine.
