The best bit is that they actually identified the van correctly!

Since when does the police have a remit to punish crimes against good taste?

That doll clearly isn't a "sex toy" - and even it it was, chances are that its bits wouldn't have been on display in the vehicle.

I'm very supportive of the police in general, but this is no more than harrassment. The plod in question needs to give himself a fucking shake and start chasing real criminals.

It's not just us that's fed up of ebaymongdom.

I can’t imagine what it must be like for those of you trying to run a business on there. A scroll through the thousands of cars listed on eBay Motors points to many dealers using the site. I’m sure the freak ratio to pukka punter count for you is far higher than the GCSE-dodgers I seem to be encountering.

Its near Derby innit? I ought to go and have a lurg after work.

*** EDIT: Found it!!!****

I suppose in the big picture it's near Derby, although it'd be a good 30 minutes or so. It's Castle Greasley which is near Swadlincote which is about as far away as you can get from Derby, and still be in Derbyshire.

If you go over, give me a yell and I'll pop by and encourage you to buy things you don't need. I'll warn you now though, there's nobody ever on site so you're not going to drive away that day - I reckon it'd take weeks of tracking people down and disconnected mobile numbers.

Is this true?

Not good if it is. I thought the mods on here were only going to be dealing with membership applications/spam etc?

L.P hasn't actually said anything offensive so maybe the system is set to put a member on pre-mod if they're reported?

Posted

I wanted to keep a eye on you because your a bad egg...

Actually I haven't a clue about it, nobodys said anything to me about it and I haven't seen any complaints come in.

Could be.

If that's the case I can see that facility being open to massive mis-use when dummies start getting spat.....

Maybe because he admitted he only comes here to wind people up?

Posted

Right, apparently he's been manually set to have his posts pre-approved after a complaint yesterday, Len, I suggest if your unhappy about this then it's best send a message on the contact form at the top and we'll discuss it.

I recon that's a bit strong really. I don't recon anyone should be blocked, we should just sort it out like we used to do by moaning at them until they stop.

Who's the moderator responsible for this and does Len have a right to reply?

Posted

i blocked it cos i am the only one who can after a discussion with cavette.

Dont know if i did right or wrong but did seem the correct thing to do at time.

I can see why it seemed like a good idea Dave, but I don't think it's the right thing to do. I'm not sure who complained but that sort of treatment should only be used for folk who've posted nasty abuse or something of that nature. Getting into a really rather gentle argument doesn't seem like something that needs to roll out the pre-approval hammer. Just my opinion.

I am going to take it on myself to lift block.

See how it goes

Just let us all get on with it. We'll sort ourselves out in the end.

I reported him for the post where he said he likes to come here just to wind people up.
I just think he's been behaving like a bit of a dick, disrupting things here probably to get people to move to his 'rival' forum.
He's also probably loving the fact we're now all talking about him.

Actually, is it possible to block users like the 'foe list' on the old forum?

If it isnt it soon will be...

I'm not taking anyone's side in any particular argument here, but it does seem a bit of an extreme measure - especially on what is supposed to be, essentially, an unmoderated site.

THIS.

Unless it's at the stage where loads of members are complaining to management about someone who is obviously running amok on the forum and taking the piss with threats/obscenities etc, please let's keep the banhammer for the spammers, as was originally promised. :)
