I always liked the old MK3 Astra "Sport" steel 'n trim 15" jobbie which looked like a steel trying to look like an alloy that looked like a steel.

Mrs R used to be a dental receptionist. Among her patients were:

Roger Moore

Michael Jackson

Laura Ashley

...and I'm sure there were others, but she can't remember them atm. Fairly sure they weren't the ones we would recognise!

I don't think you've quite got the idea, Pete... They're not supposed to be the real celebs, just people with the same name!

Impressive work though.

My paypal account. And it isn't even my money.

Cryptic, I know, but those involved will know why, and that's all that matters.

Ah, right. Ok. I worked with Barry White (a small blond bloke) selling VWs, and bought a Lancia Delta HF Turbo from Tom Jones.

Oh, and I share my name with a 1960s/70s radio 1 DJ.

Used to go to McAlpines in Ellesmere Port and see a bloke called Marshall Crank in the workshop. Called to a BT outpost in Machynlleth (sp?) and met a bloke called Dave Crapper. There's also a small garage in Oswestry owned by a bloke called Seamus Chestnut.

I think another of our confirm we loosely know a character called Jerry Berry too!

I went to school with a kid called James Bond, and when we did our O levels he was given the candidate number 007.

I also work with a Barry White. He's a right laugh, especially when he's really pissed off, and is probly the complete inverse of the Walrus of Love.

One of the Chinese guys I used to work with had a Chinese girlfriend.

Her name was Wai-Ling.

Her surname was Ho.

Also, our Chinese security guard at work is called Cok Leong.

Also, true story: my first day of taking tech desk phone calls from the public involved me stuttering through things whilst someone listened in to make sure I was doing it right. Not long into the day, some really irate guy phones in and just starts ranting. Keeping to the professional script, I ask him his surname, and he just blurts something really long at me and keeps ranting. "I'm sorry sir, could you repeat that?" I ask. "Yes, Dick. D-I-C-K. DICK! Have you got that?" he yells. "Oh right, it's just a short one, I do apologise".

Five seconds of silence, interrupted by my call monitor fumbling for both mine and his mute button so he could howl with laughter. Took the wind out of Mr Dick's sails though and he calmed down a bit.

All this funny names anecdotes reminds me of a slow day when I used to work in a call centre. We were joking about there not being a Wayne King on the system... and then we found him. Worst of all, my next call was "Hi, I'm calling about my Dad, Wayne King." and I had to feign technical issues because I very nearly wet myself trying not to laugh. True story, believe it or not.
