What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Try not to worry too much Station, and don't forget that an interview is a two-way process. It's as much about you finding out what you can about the job as it is about looking good to the interviewers. Make sure you have a couple of questions prepared. Good luck!

RESPONSE FOR THE CARB QUERY!

Thanks, it went OK. I treat them like a conversation and I wrote out everything I wanted to say beforehand! The amount of interviews I've had still doesn't really stop me getting nervous beforehand though!

I think you need the nerves though. Tell you what - being the interviewer can be a nervous business as well!

Getting a message on ebay asking me to sell more stuff because the bloke finds my listings amusing. Made up for the bollocking I recieved from Ms RT when I listed her AX. "Were you on drugs when you wrote that?" etc. etc.

Asked the gf tentatively about buying another camper for the summer and sent her a few pics expecting to get a knock back and told we have no money. Instead I got a call and a massive rant about how cool it will be and what we could do with it! So going to look at a T25 in Wales from RR.

Apparently she has decided today that life is too short, money is there to be spent and we don't need to buy a house to be happy. :D

I expect normally service to be resumed tomorrow :(

Yay. I'll be making sparkles this weeks.

Good luck station. I've been to a few interiews where I seem to have fallen on my face, though others have been quite good, even if I didnt get the job.

Just be polite, clear, confident, but be yourself too.

Just had feedback on two of my students. Wangled them a 2 week internship with a friends husband. He is CEO of international recruitment agency so fairly hard-nosed business man.

Got an email from him gushing praise on the students and wants to offer the same opportunity to two more next year.

They will look back and realise that it isn't normal to be mentored by a CEO like him.. they had to present to the board on the final day on what they had learnt over the last two weeks. But much grinnage for me as I love it when a plan comes together :D

I've just completed a 150 mile drive to northampton in the Kadett ready for Billing tomorrow, The car drove faultlessly on the drive at 60 mph most of the way but the clutch thrust bearing is starting to get a bit noisy, i do have a spare nos clutch so i might have to fit it...

Hope you enjoy Billing, Trig. I went in 2005 and 2006 (only on the Saturday though), saw some quality GM chod and picked up a few bargain bits at the Autojumble too.

I have a terrifying interview for a decent job with a decent company for good money in London tomorrow. I have to be absolutely A1 through the whole thing or I'll piss it right up.

Wow. Sounds like my perfect job. Do they need anyone else?

Very best of luck, mate.

I can confirm it's friggin ace and makes we want to bash my head off the gas canister at all the time I've wasted pissing about using gassless mig wire.

There was a WONDERFUL programme on BBC4 last night. Obviously I don't mean that as the BBC is shit/communist/fascist/doesn't do what I specifically demand etc etc etc etc :lol:

It was called the 'Maharaja's Motor car: The story of Rolls-Royce in India'

Here is the blurb........Documentary which tells the story of Rolls-Royce in India by following the fortunes of India's princes from the zenith of British imperial power to the decline after independence

Here is Iplayer link http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... _in_India/

I saw that too, was very good. Quite an odd topic for a whole programme to cover but that's why BBC4 is the best channel IMO. The complete antithesis of thicko-spec ITV.

I had a fabulous afternoon with a few familiar faces. Good people, great cars, grand weather. Who can ask for more....? 8)

The little knock off Mitsubishi absolutely flew through it's MOT yesterday, sailed the emissions test and no advisories :D:D:D:D:D

Japanese Technology, Malaysian Style ftw, as I believe the young 'uns would say these days!

Looking forward to seeing some pics of this. Very much enjoying Wat's teaser shot of a misanthropic Northern saloon enthusiast.

I would imagine that their next request would be along the lines of "does anyone have a large jar of Vasaline and a couple of tyre levers to gift? I need to remove a video camera (with night vision) from my rectum"

LOL.

Right, very happy news from Cavette towers: the saga of my son's 18th birthday present looks finally resolved. Just got to whang it in for an MOT asap this week and keep the old fingers firmly crossed...

Guess what sticker logo it has on the back?
