Have just seen an advert in Mojo, for a special edition MINI called the 'Hampton':shock:

Somebody at BMW has no idea about rhyming slang....

Can imagine it now. "Would anyone like to see my mini hampton":lol::lol:

Missus dragged me out to a bingo hall (insert your own jokes here) and I've just won almost enough to tax a certain Cavalier for six months.

Love that clamper story. Justice is rare, but when it's like that it's frickin' beautiful.

Getting the settings correct on the welder, and striking an arc successfully and having the weld progress as it should, rather than in fits and starts and with regular changers of nozzle and having the wire back-up in the feed area from the resulting jam. This is especially grin-worthy as I've been welding an aluminium inlet manifold for the Imp, which means that I should be able to change to a Strommie/SU in the near future.

Two things made me smile on the way home:

1) Seeing the Angry Dicky Maestro and Cambridge heading up the A140 in Norfolk.

Hi SL,

Sorry to say I didn't see you, I was driving the A55 but I did spot a late model Camry estate in the same colour as yours with a local HAH reg near Stalham. I did wonder if you were around!

We took our 16 month old niece out to the Donkey sanctuary today , It was great to have day off from fixing stuff , After battling with the stupid childs seat things went great , Our 86 Beemers a joy to drive , Lilly our niece had a great time , didnt cry once , throw food everywhere and loves donkeys , and its free to get in .

Not being a father myself it was a pleasant change for me .

Recommend this place if you have sproglets

O/H is watching 'Terry and June' which she taped earlier. Terry has just got something out of the boot of his Princess...

O/H: "That's a small boot for such a big car..."

I had to explain the whole BL PHAIL/Princess/Ambassador thing...

Tell me about it Pete. I whizzed down to the bookies three minutes before kick off and a quid on Barca winning 3-1 :D

There's a couple of Camry estates round here (I live in Stalham) - one's on a K and one's on a P. One is silver and the other is pale blue, but I forget which is which...

Getting more parts for the Sterling and actually managing to get it insured. All it needs is an MOT and tax and I'm away.

Triggers new avatar makes me grin too. Where can I find a bigger version Trigs?

Sorry about the Oxford/Cambridge confusion! I did question it as I wrote it...

It was only when I was alongside the Cambridge I clicked it would be you, initially I hadn't noticed it as I was so amazed to see the Maestro.

You were just approaching that new roundabout a few miles south of Long Stratton, I was heading the opposite way in the Camry Sport stealth-mobile (if nobody notices it then it's doing its job).

The estate you saw doesn't ring a bell with me, I'll keep my eyes open if ever I go up that way! Wuv's, it's likely that the older one will be silver and the P-reg pale blue.

I think it was a silver one on a P. That's a coincidence you living in Stalham, we have a boat moored just behind the Museum of the Broads, so very close indeed. There's an early Metro rotting away in a front garden just past Richardsons.

Ah that would explain it, if you'd been in the Laurel I would have recognised you straightaway! We had intended to be in Norfolk for a week but due to an emergency we had to come rushing back this morning. I did spot another Maestro actually, an ex British Gas C reg van parked on a verge just outside a petrol station which I think was on the A47? the main road somewhere near Potter Heigham, but they are a pretty rare sight now.

Rage quitters deleting posts, very bizarre. :)

It's a car forum not some expenses receipts that maybe used as evidence against you...

A completely unrelated note... do any other areas have named Virgin Media vans? I've passed Marlon Vando and Van Morrison in the past couple of days on 11-plate Transits which has caused me some amusement when having to deal with the general public...

got overtaken by a Lotus Esprit turbo today on the A419 - it was registered A10TUS - made me grin, especially as it was bright yellow.

A good weekend all round. Saturday drove to Bristol and swapped my MR2 and took the back roads home, with the only mishap being a wiperblade flying off. Then went with a mate for his possible purchase of that mk1 renault 5 posted on the tat thread. Lokks like it will need a fair bit of work, but cant go that wrong for £60.

Today was a trip to Run to the Sun, driving down with that 2 tone passat recently posted in the bargains thread. So an enjoyable shite filled weekend, pics will have to wait until my pc is fixed though

Seeing this right heap of wank on the 'Old British Cars' facebook group, owned by a typical council estate dribbler it seems.

Thanks, a slight tea/computer screen interface was had then.

That Mini looks like a sort of Herman Munster on wheels. Got to love the bonnet bulge bolts, if he sharpened them a bit and relocated the airfilter he could recreate the K&N induction roar simply by slamming the it closed.

In case you hit your head on the cage as the G-force from the extra 300BHP the stick on tat produces lurches you forward.

A grin I forgot from last night: took the fuhrer into town and spied some lad tear arsing up behind me. I honestly thought I was seeing things as he drew level at the lights and nailed his car off at full tilt probably trying to tempt me to race him. In his E reg Fiat Panda with a big bore backbox

I hope I see it again so I can grab a picture. Fair play to the lad for having what his mates probably think is a desparetly uncool car.

'71 on a J? Spot of V5 and tags-through-the-post tax evasion, or am I leaping to conclusions?

Anyway. Saw a tired looking mondeo on the back of a low-loader on the A12, I assume being repossessed by bailiffs. Transit registration was R3PO U.
