My mum was telling me she was going to buy a replacement petrol lawnmower, when I asked what was wrong with the old one she told me it was seized, its a briggs and stratton engined mower which is only 12 years old so relatively modern, so I took it away for an hour or so stripped it down cleaned it up etc it unseized very easily, then it was running like a good one, sorted a couple of other little bits on it then took it back around with some fresh fuel in and she was over the moon with it

When I go to the local recycling site to get rid of all my crap, I am often greeted by the sight of petrol mowers left by the metal skip, and I invariably wonder how dead they really are. Sadly, they're too big to fit in the Curver box I use for dumping metal scrap (and squirrelling small items of electrical equipment/gas canisters etc.).

Stansted airport appears to be taking its heritage seriously and the announcements are all now read in an Essex accent. :D

I heard of a similar one up in Leeds train station where the announcer announces a safety message in a very northern accent alomg the lines of 'You are not a train'. Never heard it myself.

My absolute pain in the arse neighbour knocked earlier to say she was moving out along with her 3 pain in the arse dogs , I really struggled to not do cartwheels in front of her.  The landlord appeared a little later and apparently she's not paid rent for months and the place is an absolute shit hole inside which he insisted I see, the massive turd in the middle of the living room was a surprise

We had neighbours like that 15 years ago , it all came to a head when she had a go at my wife who in normal circumstances is easy going but on this occasion the bitch got more than she bargained for, then one Saturday morning  a couple of transit vans turned up and they went , it was quite satisfying waving them off , fuck off enjoy your new life

turned out they hadn't been paying the mortgage but the kids were still having riding lessons to fit in with her pretend life of being wealthy

this exact phenomenon has kept me in disposable income for the past 2 years. The answer is almost always 'not dead at all' - if the deck isn;t full of holes then its been thrown out for looking old, rather than any flaw. if the deck IS full of holes, then the engine will still be absolutely fine and just needs transplanting.

I have only ever had 2 briggs engines which are beyond redemption. One had clearly been used to mow someone's rockery and the other one had been run for a sustained period with no oil at all.

^^^ good innit? Honda haven't made anything that stylish since the Pacific Coast and, before that, the Helix

Just read a couple of things about the Dn01 , and I'm even more confused than I was before.

But at least it's not another Cafebobber retro thing.

I'm off to try and get my head around the belt less, hydraulic cvt malarkey.

Father DodgeRover has qualified for an invite to the national ploughing championships, I'm assuming it's in the Ferguson class. Hopefully it will be somewhere in the middle of the country so he can attend.

Saw an LDV Convoy minibus with a VW T25 Westfalia fibreglass top grafted onto the roof today.  Impressive.  Can't get the photograph off my camera at the moment otherwise I'd share.

I'd forgotten about the side windows in the loft extension being made entirely of gaffer tape on both sides. It was huge, like a bungalow on wheels.

They are holding a ploughing thing near Taunton this weekend and I can't believe the stupid place they have picked. It is in the middle of nowhere with single track roads to get to it. I had to drop a car back on Friday going past the place and what should of been a half hour return trip turned into and hour and a half nightmare getting stuck behind caravans and bloody tractors

Possible winner of shittest car ad pic ever? What was the point? Ooh look I have cleaned the car at least once. Even worse, it was the FIRST pic in the listing.post-19712-0-43175800-1508079268_thumb.png

Today I found my chance to clean up some future shite, fil fps dacia duster, the poor thing was covered in metal fallout causing tiny rust spots and the paint felt like braille it was also very dull, so it had a good wash and dry, clay barring to remove fallout then another wash and dry, then a little paint rectification then finally a polish and wax, I stupidly didn't take a before picture

That's a 400 not a Convoy.

At the speeds I ride I'm very likely to never find out.
