What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Last year's have, because there was no point in them being anywhere.

I figured the craphouse was just for pointless toss. Open Forum is interesting stuff that's not car related.

Edit: this year's too. Oh well.

If you always look at "new content" or whatever it's called like I do, then everything, including those threads is always displayed in time order.

Don't know if this has been posted before, but I Googled "Woollarding" and found an old Metro article on the craze.  Within the first 10 photos in the article, both Mr and Mrs Trigger made an appearance (as well as sometime 'shiter Keith Adams).  I have a sneaking suspicion there may be some other 'shiters lurking in there as well.

I managed something like that whist A-framing.

Mine was a combination of mismatched ancient M+S rubber and paggered dampers.

Assuming that it's bounced off the tree into its current position, that's seriously impressive. I'm guessing they had to slam on the brakes sharpish, and hit the wrong pedal?

Yay, just remembered the Outback's MOT is out this month, so with no prep at all save checking the lights we dropped it in this morning, just got the call passed no issues, collect in a few mins and walk the dogs at the same time.

Not so grin, back to work tomorrow.

After yesterdays entry into the 'grump' thread about people not returning calls, one of the guys I did call has just said he'll pick up my vents tonight to get them painted. He was the guy that painted my original Turbo R and did a great job. Best of all, I don't have to get in touch with the steroid abusing ape that did the last lot of paintwork :)

Bought twiglets for an xmas treat, two packs for the price of one.

It must be forty years since I last ate one and I can only assume I was suffering from some teenage salt defficiency. Vile doesn't do the fucking things justice.

On a more positive note, I can advise that they make spectacularly good firelighters.

Twiglets are brilliant with a pint.

Convinced a mate that TLDR on motoring forums meant turbo lag, diesel retard and referred to how to cure common problems with common rail dizzlers. He isn't that internet savvy so I know it's not big or clever but made me laugh, I will tell him the truth tomorrow (probably).

Van was covered in heavy ice/ frost this morning had the brilliant idea of putting in a 240v blow air heater while I had a coffee. Result van was toasty warm and totally defrosted very quickly. Less grin making was the flat battery as it hadn't been run since before Christmas...but hey ho even after pouring water on my spare battery to melt the ice holding it to the ground the cab was still warm after jump starting.

Nipped to the Co-Op during lunchtime, regret having not cased the car park properly before I went into the shop because I emerged to see a brilliantly shonky beige W123 230CE rattling its way towards the exit.

Trigger, Trigger's wife (?) and Captain Slow (?) too.

It looks like a certain Mr woollarding may have nicked the idea elsewhere,

Just picked up an 03 Octavia 1.8 turbo with 35k on the clock. Bloody hell....it goes like a stabbed rat!!! Narrowly missed out on a 52k Cougar V6 auto with full black cow too cos I was too tight. Proper shitie night for a mainstream auction house.

35k? That's a keeper. Mappable for another 30bhp or so too IIRC.

Was that the auction out at Morley?

Nope, BCA at Brighouse. Is the Morley one still going? Used to buy four or five a week out of there in the nineties....proper budget end stuff!

What year was the cougar?

If it was a cougar2 then it's a rarity in black with black leather.......

I'm bouncing off the walls waiting for this appointment with Deliveroo I have tomorrow. Today should be a good day too as the post might see me have all the bits lying around to fix my keyboard and maybe have a pair of bike wheels I'm waiting for show up as well.

My parents seem to be pleased or something as they've started treating me like an adult (so in other words they're sick of me), and I feel a hell of a lot better for it.

This has one very big upside, and it appears to be that they've dropped all their objections to me having a car.

Man, I feel good.

It was a 2000 on a W in that dark metallic green. Nice looking thing but there wouldn't be much profit in it and I've far too many toys as it is :-(
