I went to a "vinyl night" last night at a trendy little cafe, the music was fantastic and it was a brilliant evening,I'm still half deaf today and can't stop humming tunes.

I can't remember all the music but There was some electro which blurred in to 'uptown top ranking' they played the specials 'gangsters' so I gave the Dj 'lip up fatty' to follow, there was T. rex and Bowie 'queen bitch' too

It'd be worth going just to hear Althea and Donna and The Specials. 'Uptown Top Ranking' will always be one of the greatest tunes ever.

I always have DJ Shadow, Entroducing and Air, Moon Safari with me.

On the old phone & in the car:

Kill Em All

Ride The Lightning

Master of Puppets

...And Justice For All

Iron Maiden (1980)

Killers

Piece of Mind

Rust in Peace

Bomber (album)

The only concession to newness on the car one is Bad Magic.

It seems I'm very set in my ways :D

This is a "hipster" genre of music apparently, but it sounds like a tape you found in the stereo of a mazda 626 dragged out of a council garage after 25 years. I'm down with this track atleast.

It's a Diana Ross album track called 'It's Your Move' that someone has used a computer to slow down, using an RPM setting that's the same as playing a 45 at 33.

People actually make albums like this and release them on limited run cassette.

Yes, you read the prices right.

When my Beetle had a head-on with a bicycle / postman** Gangsters was playing, very loud.

**He was ok, and it was his fault. The GPO bike was fucked though.

Hospital today for a post-op check up (that's not a grin although everything was ok). I've had eye surgery and couldn't believe my newly fixed eyes when on the outskirts of Oxford I spotted a Fiat Tempra Weekend no less! Haven't seen one of those for decades.

PMSL, I made a few limited run cassettes like that by accidently leaving the "high speed dubbing" switch pressed on the cassette deck.

I went to see The Specials a couple of weeks back. Incredible.

They're touring next year, just found a link on social media. Leeds, Birmingham and London, Hertfordshire. Support act? Only bloody Toots & The Maytals. If the latter come on and only play 'Monkey Man' then the whole shebang will have been worth it.

Hats off to the recent spammers who've been emailing from PayPal's 'Costumer' department. I'm quite clearly going to open everyone of those messages and send you all my details.

I'm assuming that's part of the Slam Dunk festival in which case it's a bloody good day, although will be rammed with people. Great thing is 80% of people there are too young for the bar though so getting a beer is easy.

I may well purchase tickets for this....

Ok , I've got the back of the Gaylander full and there's still at least another two loads to move tomorrow.

Seems that most of the 70's stuff was lost, as I thought. Although I'll have to wait until it's all sorted. Some of it is damp( it's not a cupboard, it's a bog!) and some damaged and trampled.

The plan is for my brother and I to be very strict and only keep stuff that's really important to us, eBay the , Scene valuable , Ford ,VW and Land Rover stuff.

That will still leave hundreds ,if not thousands of Autocars, Motors, Fast Lane, Hot Car, Performance Car ,Street Machine, Supercar Classics, Compay CAR(!!) etc, etc.

Any suggestions on how to store and distribute to the Autoshite community welcome. I'm not listing individual stuff and I'm not packaging and posting hundreds of bloody magazines - if I can store til SF17 , there could be a free for all followed by a bonfire of the leftovers.

I'd be well up for some 1990s Performance Car mags,,,

Pretty sure you'll get your wish -  I saw Toots and the Maytals at WOMAD a few years back, and very good they were too. Got no interest in seeing the Specials sans Dammers though.

That's no bad at all tbh!

You obviously have a different idea of what's reasonable, I go to a lot of gigs and won't pay more than £30 whoever is playing. They know that some people will pay whatever so I flatenthe prices, that's up to them but I won't be paying it.

Read the bottom line! ;)

Aye, but they're being a bit naughty as Slamdunk haven't released any of the lineup yet...

It's a whole day festival, you won't be able to just get in to this one gig

That's would be more reasonable but it's on a Friday? No mention on the site of anything else beyond the two bands on the flyer. Three consecutive festivals in three different places as well seems odd.

Maybe I do, but I'll pay £20/30 to see 2 bands totalling 3hrs, so £50 didn't seem over the top for a whole day as Pillock said.

End of the day its likely still much better value than going to the football with may Da (Hamilton accies, the masochist)

Van (Jumpy/ Dispatch) passed it's CT today :)

Usually it needs wishbones, but not this time, last set must've been made from higher quality cheese :)

That Marina/Ital looks so much like a Mk2 Escort at first glance.  The front end looks somehow different to the car versions.

I still can't see any mention anywhere of it being a festival or any mention beyond the two bands. Just because it's outdoors doesn't mean it's all day or a festival, as I said before as it's three days running at three different locations it doesn't sound very festivals to me, so £50=lot for two bands.

I have to pretend (to myself) I didn't hear when my wife says what she has paid to see some godawful band, quite a lot more than £50.

The last gig I was at cost £5, I was right at the front and got a chance to speak to the artist. And I didn't have to go to fugging Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Saw a stretched C plate mk2 Granny limo today obviously in proper use ferrying lots of kids back from school. Ideal for those family times when you just need more than the one back seat. There's a piccy of it on here already somewhere.
