What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Just broken my personal record. A nice woman from Microsoft called me today to tell me that my computer was infected with a virus. As part of the service they would sort it out for me. One hour and 26 minutes later she finally sussed that I was taking the piss and put the phone down.

Well that's one hour and 26 minutes that those scamming cunts are not pestering some poor person who is not computer savvy.

Got a Peugeot FTP and have a funeral to go to Thursday so "invisibly mended" the Focus bumper and coachbolted it somewhere near where it might have been originally . Just the electrics and cutting out on LPG tick over to ignore now. Luckily South Africans don't judge peeps by the straightness of their conveyance just their capacity to commiserate loudly at the wake.

Managed to score a table for a do in Liverpool next month where you get to play a game of darts against Eric Bristow.

Amazed to receive a cheque from Doovla for the two months extra tax they helped themselves to , after notifying change of keeper last August.post-17414-0-69393100-1456147489_thumb.jpg

 That looks seamless.

Are the electrics to do with the battery? Or do you think there is something else going on?

Castros, was the Focus in the Godalming area by any chance last Sunday (14th)? Only ask because a rather bumperless Focus ambled over the speed bumps near the High Street. Made me grin too, cuz I was thinking to myself, I've seen another one like that recently.

Guilty.  Popping into the Jack Philips for a swift one to help get the bumper alignment eye in.

The electrics from the alternator is low maybe 75% so when lights, fan, radio, wipers etc are all on the battery slowly goes flat but with lights or wiper/fan/radio off tis OK.    so either       Option 1     I have to fit my ole Fiesta non-smart alternator or  Option 2 I don't drive in traffic for long in the rain during a cold night listening to Radio 4.  Presently am testing Option 2 as a CBA life style choice

Despite not exactly being in love with my job, and considering the business that it is, the view I have of the world if I drive to a remote part of the plant is something else. Spending some of my dinner watching rabbits, buzzards, a sparrow hawk, Canada geese and loads of unusual birds is ace. Can see for miles from the highest point to the ship canal and Mersey across to Liverpool.

Used 1/4 tank of fuel on my commute of 19miles.

Had the 4.0 sovereign in "sport mode" and made full use of the auto gearbox

In a similar vein I appear to be getting around 18mpg out of the Volvo atm ... short journeys plus turbo is not very efficent.

Well it's goodbye from me.....

And hello to me

post-8026-145630129851_thumb.jpeg

Seeing as the 214 doesn't seem to be getting any interest the mighty P38 was slapped up on a few specialist sites, and almost got swamped in the rush!

Best turnout for me was a swap for the Leon Cupra R 180......

By christ it don't half shift up the road....

Even in 6th gear it just picks up and fucks off down the road!!

Couple of niggles which are a blowy exhaust gasket somewhere,it could do with a new windscreen as there are scratches where a blade has lost it's rubber, and the gearknob is a little vague...

But dead chuffed with it,even Mrs 18s approves..

First day this year I didn't have to be up at 5 (or earlier) the sun's shining , it's my birthday and some offspring made me a sausage sandwich. Dropped Mrs N at work , then with the sunroof open and arsewarmers doing their job, I whizzed home to the strains of Walking On Sunshine on the radio. I was singing along like a big fat, bald, grinning idiot that's on a promise.

Aye, it doesn't take much to keep a shiter happy.....Just a bit of "not raining" solo time in a car that's working properly.   Perfect.

Welcome to the club! Isn't the "R" a 225bhp model though?

Not according to the logbook.down as a cupra r 180.......

I think Cupras are 180 and Cupra Rs are 225 bhp but don't hold me to that. What's the engine code, that will tell you.

Where would I find that?

I'm new to all this vw malarkey. ....

Beat me to it I was just doing a reply I think they also got a sticker in the engine bay on the right hand side with the engine code as well, failing that ring vw parts and ask them for the code

Hello my favourite people/crazy bastards.

I was at a non-car auction and many NOS shitter related job-lots came up. ERM, I shall be selling some 'top quality' items to you guys at the weekend. :D

In slightly less exciting news I had my Class 1 assessment today, it went smoother than I thought.

I've booked number 59 (the year of my birth) in THREE current Roffles.  If it comes up I suddenly own a load of cars I don't need in different parts of the country, including a Fiesta that may or may not be a viable project.  I think this calls for a "What have I done?"-type Gulp.
