Double headed black fives going on the line near my house today, so headed for the nearest road / rail interface. Took idiot sister's dog, and it turns out it's a train spotting dog. First sound and she's jumping on the wall trying to look over.

Seconds of entertainment as well. They went under the road and it's instant fog as steam blasts everywhere. Engage several giffers running across the road to see them come out the other side without bothering to look for traffic first. Fortunately no collisions, but must have been entertaining for drivers. Where has this fog come from and why are there zombies in the road?

One of the things living up norf is that the cost of stuff is much more reliable. Getting a guy to come and look at the civic on wednesday, reckons total cost will be around £50.

In london town that would be the call out charge before they started.

I was at work yesterday and took a patient out for a drive and the lads who I work with like motors as well so we decided to pop up to dubfreeze at Stafford county showground to look at motors and see what we could see to pass the time, when I saw this 505 sat there

Nah, tin of del monte surely?

I guess none of the VWs were worth taking pictures of then, fair enough.

Spectacular repair* work on that front wing.  How is this not in Africa?

Whilst briskly (but within the posted speed limits) making my way around a large roundabout on the way to work this morning I discovered what lift off oversteer feels like. Whoops! :-D

This is all I took a picture of as the dubs that I saw were stereotypical pineapple express mobiles

I might get a doctor to call at mine and then say I reckon I will feel better if you drive flat out with me in the passenger seat for a bit.

I'm just picturing that hooning down the road with a flashing green light on the roof

I have mentioned in the past that my incompetencies range far and wide. Spanner monkeying being towards the top of the list. The Merc shat it's pants and has been running on five explosion tubes instead of six and is lumpy as fxck so I thought I'd have a go. Found out it was one of the ignition coils so I toddled off to the local scrappy and found another one off a 3.2 CLK ( mines an E class) from the same year. Had a go at fitting ( only one star bolt, 2 HT leads and a clip of wires feeding the electric juice into the whole gubbins) and found that the clip was the wrong type and would not secure properly. I would have thought that it was the same engine but Oh No! BXSTARDING Fxcking Mercedes!  I'll go back to the scrappy tomorrow and find the right one! The good news is that in the 30 seconds that it ran; the engine was smoother than a silk wrapped cashmere g string on a 19 year old Swedish Hunny Bunny!  There is hope for my spanner monkeying yet!

The block has been adorned with an illegally parked, pogweaseled Corsa B with no wheeltrims for some time.

Was outside Sainsbury's earlier and some oldish bloke dropped his pound coin he was getting out of a trolly lock thing. My 5 year old son went over didn't say anything picked it up and gave it straight back. Bloke was well taken aback, really grateful and ended up giving my son the money :-)

Two seconds later we're stopped by a woman coming out of the shop who gave my son another pound saying she'd seen what he'd done and was really impressed!

Now if I can just keep him like this for the next 10 years I'll be doing OK :-)

Candles. Not only romantic, but also practical due to the heat they give off. Oh and Valentine's Day and 50 shades can FRO. I don't care if it's a Monday.

Even more practical with the flower-pot trick, although slightly less romantic. Still, priorities and that...

I've never worked out if the flower pot trick is worth it. I guess the theory is that it stops the heat just racing upwards, but you're still heating the room.

We use a flower pot on the stove in the boat. it warms up the top half of the cabin really nicely but how do you get the heat to lower levels without creating lukewarm drafts. (Putting the stove on the floor is not an option).
