No euro-monging in the Land Rover for me this year but a friend sent me a little piece of a hot and sunny location to bolt on.

An old woman just asked 'can you help me across the road son' and went on to say 'I'm 94 you know' when I did. I thought both these things were urban myths.

:-D

The traffic cars are B2 Passat estates, Mk3 Golfs, early Accord Aerodecks, Alfa 33s, Routemasters, Scania 113s and Merc T1/601s...

Can't wait to unlock the DeLorean and Rolls Silver Spirit...

You obviously haven't played the far superior Pyongyang Racer.

It's worth it just for the music.

Confuse them even more by claiming it was a special edition to celebrate the international success of the homonymous rock band. Like those 'Pink Floyd' Golf Mk.3s, only leaf sprung.

Huge amounts of warm, happy autoshite thanks to ChinaTom for his mega-assist in getting double the amount of Toledo doors to me in sunny St. Albans. An absolute star of red giant proportions. I haz need of estate car. Anyone fancy a swap for a ............

Cheers Tom, hugely appreciated and if I can ever return a favour then please do not hesitate to get in touch. Nice Merc estate by the way.

I had the crap, decontented Play Station version which had fewer cars and poorer graphics. I still liked it though.

The sequel was dire, sadly.

SniffPetrol's Paris Motor Show report.

http://sniffpetrol.com/2014/10/02/the-2014-paris-motor-show/

Paris was the first public showing for the new Vauxhall Corsa which will come with a fresh range of trim names, designed to reflect the car’s classic customer base. ‘The range starts with Learner,’ confirmed a spokesman. ‘Then rises through Cretin, Moron, Simpleton and Tit.’

Years ago I kept some notes of sellers comments on Trade Me , our version of Ebay.

Somehow they came back to life and one page re-emerged. Enjoy the little bit I found ! These folks exist world wide.

Went to our local theatre in Bromley tonight to be part of 'An Audience with Roger Moore'. Despite being a doddery 86 he's still a great raconteur and my HERO from childhood. He's also the best Bond, end of. Icing on the cake was driving home and I pulled up next to an almost identical R8 at the lights, same colour white over grey but it was a 214. Looked the same as Joe's as it was on GTi alloys and sans grille. Got a smile and the thumbs up from the lad behind the wheel.

The missus found out this week she's losing her job soon so we needed a bloody good night out.

I saw Roger Moore when I was working in South Kensington a few years ago and was out for a lunchtime walk.  He was coming out of a small jewellery shop with his wife and they got into the back of a black Merc or something.  I was across the other side of the road and probably staring, he did the old double take, raised an eyebrow and got into the car.

He was a hero in the Bond films, but when I got the Persuaders DVDs he and Tony Curtis were even better

My dad stepped on Roger Moore's foot at an airport once. Pa was well chuffed as Roger did his trademark raised eyebrow.

+1 on the Persuaders, brilliant stuff. Despite the film star aspect he also just comes across as a decent bloke, grounded and up for a laugh all the time. In one anecdote he was saying what a dirty bastard Herve Villechaize was, and how Britt Eckland couldn't stand being anywhere near the little sod!

I want a Rover 75, but thought getting insured would be a problem as I've only got a classic policy these days and no NCD. Quotes were 500+ so sod that. I gave Peter James a call on the off-chance and they are willing to insure me on a 2.5 V6 for an extra 60 quid. So goodbye 20 year rule, and hello modern shite! The only caveat is I'll be restricted to 3000 miles a year across all my cars, but that's fine as I get the train to work, and how will they know anyway.

We managed to pool our collective brains and finally open the cable-release boot today that would not open with the cable due to a cable routing issue.  It's surprising just how useful a 1 LED torch, a large spirit level and a length of thickwall steel tubing can be.  Great relief to have it open, the cable correctly routed and the boot lid working properly now.

After the DiVLAds trying to chisel me out of some of the money they owed me, I finally got the full refund of the RFL they owed me. That can go towards the cost of my tattoo in November.

I saw many R75's today going between Enfield and St. Albans, all of 'em in good nick. I'll be visiting mine tomorrow :)
