I've been watching the old Alan Bleasdale drama 'GBH' on 4oD, its absolutely flipping brilliant. Such a great story and characters, the whole thing is a work of art man. Plus its chock full of shite and has even got Julia st. John at her most gorgeous in it. Basically its got everything you need.

Nice one Bol, might have a look at this later. I like stuff with Alan Bleasedale, he was great in Boys from the Blackstuff. I also quite fancy Julia St John, she was a great looker.

(but do you think I can find the pictures now I want them?)

Hows about this for inspiration?

Some of the truck heads on here might remember Laurence Kiely from Truck magazine and Truck & Driver, he was a bit of a road trip legend, driving a F12 through the middle of the Gulf just as the war came to an end etc.

Anyway he's not one to leave something that's pissed him off alone, and he's got a Stobart manager in his sights at the moment... http://www.777v666.com/

Bought an Owl energy monitor to see where all the money is going. It has become obsessive with working out how much each thing costs. What a way to spend a Sat night!

One thing is does do is make you turn lots of stuff off to save 1p.

EDIT

Is DW moonlighting?

I faintly remember it to be honest, not the original run, I think they showed it on UK Gold or something. Nice to see that all these years later, Laura from The Brittas Empire is still more-or-less the pinnacle of women.

I always fancied Linda (Jill Greenacre) from Brittas as well. Amusingly, I never realised Tim and Gavin were gay (sheltered childhood bla bla bla).

I got one of them owl things, it's quite good to remind you just how much the great big telly uses etc. as a fairly rough rule of thumb, 1 watt for 1 year costs 1 quid. Seems to have fairly crap resolution though - something like 37w steps. Even with everything unplugged, my house seems to use about 90w somewhere!

stick it in first and really go for it. Other motorists look concerned when you do that however...

But it is fun!

Whilst looking for an alternator repair kit (for the Lancia) on ebay I came across a NOS alternator for  £30inc .... That'll do nicely.

Yes, Jill Greenacre was hot too, great boobs!

I was definitely aware of the Tim/Gavin thing. That Brittas was not was one of the funniest long running themes in it. :)

If the weather is still too rubbish to do the doors on the red Princess tomorrow (well, today technically) I've dug out all the bits to sort out the dash board on the beige Princess instead so I shouldn't be bored on my day off.

Nope.

I did/do too, great little body and cute face. Jill and Julia...... Mind you, Brittas's mouthy northern secretary had some great pins on her too.

At that point I'd be switching each trip switch/fuse in order to see which circuit was using power, possibly the heating system?

Just discovered this, going to have words at bank tomorrow.

Might be of interest to others.

There is an Act of Parliament which over-rides banks taking charges from your account if you are in receipt of any of the following benefits. • Income Support • Tax Credits • Child Benefit • Job seekers allowance • Incapacity benefit • Disability living allowance • Attendance Allowance • CSA payments • Other DWP payments. These social security benefits are granted to stop hardship and are designed to meet basic day to day needs, and are exempt and are protected under the Social Security Administration Act 1992 sub section 187. from arrestment in terms of section 187 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 (see Enforcement of Civil Obligations in Scotland, Scottish Executive report, at paragraph 5.245). Section 45 of the Tax Credits Act 2002 Chapter 21 part 1 is an identical provision to the said section 187 of the 1992 Act. This stipulates that the banks can not apply any charges to money received as benefit, and any such charges are unlawful and therefore disallowed. Write or contact your bank and quote the above Act.

They did that to me while I was out of work for a while, just laughed when questioned then cancelled my debit card 4 times....

Moral of the story is DON'T tell anyone when you are out of work.

I never read The Telegraph online...but just did..interview with Donny Osmond about squandering $1MILLIONS..and then at the end of the article..

-- The Osmonds will be appearing in the 'Once in a Lifetime’ tour (with David Essex, Showaddywaddy and Les McKeown’s Legendary Bay City Rollers) countrywide, June 2028

Having to waiting 14 n half years for that tour is gonna kill me...and how many will still be alive by then anyway..

Weirdly it looks like someone has at least made some effort to flatten the bonnet out.

Posted

Maybe the driver was pissed, saw a Belisha beacon, crashed into it and had a rave on his bonnet?

Dave that Dave Armand is brilliant. I can remember when he came on a program in 2006 with that act. He has a few more on YouTube
