Hey Ian, you've caught the frost on the bonnet well in that pic 8)

The moon is tip-top tonight as has been mentioned - as is Jupiter, just to its left. :D

just been out to lock the car - its like daylight out there, but car windows are already iced up

For the first time ever I took a photo of the moon tonight, it's not great but for a little Fuji bridge camera it's not too bad at all. Venus was quite nearby but it hasn't registered unfortunately.

I've just gone outside to take a look, it's stunning isn't it, I didn't know that was Venus right beside it, there's another star just below as well.

Hey, me too. My photo looks very similar, we must have been looking at the same moon.

I was out on the bike last night and the moon was absolutely stunning, and bright enough to make pothole avoidance a whole lot easier. I rode happily for a couple of hours then nearly had a tumble (at low speed, thankfully) on the gravel outside my house

I didn't actually fall, but the effort required to stay upright, unclip and get a foot down seems to have left me feeling distinctly second-hand this morning.

Also making me grin, I have an interview this afternoon for a job I really fancy the sound of :D

Can anybody date these?

Found in the glove box of a trade in. There was another packet with a 2006 best before date (and more modern graphics). Interestingly, the P/X was a 57 plate.

I reckon that will be from around 1980 or a bit before. I can remember Mars Bars being 15p in 1983.

I was thinking mid '80s, just because of the bar code. Polos were 20p for what seemed like ages in the early 90s... When I was 9 I could either buy Auto Express or two and a half packets of Polos with my 50p pocket money.

More importantly, have you tried one yet?

I'm saving that for the next time I want to loose weight very rapidly.

You'd have got more internet points if you'd zeroed the trip meter at 122667 miles.

Went for a first date type thing last night with an absolutely cracking lass, and this morning I get a phone call inviting me for an interview for a really interesting job that I applied for about two months ago and had given up on. Fingers crossed on both accounts, I could really do with some luck lately!

You know it's easy to complain about buyers of stuff because they're often knobheads, timewasters and general morons? Well, I've had another ace Gumtree deal with a lad who bought a cycle off me.

I met him at the railway station an hour ago and he asked me how to get back to Manchester from here, so I pointed back in the station and told him it's usually free to take your bike on the train. Oh no, he replied, I want to ride it back. There's no lights on the bike, it's pitch black and the A roads from here to Manchester are ropey enough in broad daylight in a car, never mind at night on a 1983 bike with no lights.

Anyhow he insisted so I dug him some lights out (which he tried to pay me for!) and took him (a very small) part of the way back and he insisted he got out and rode from there.

Couldn't meet a nicer lad, he's over here on a 6 month work placement with a bank and has two (British built) Royal Enfield motorbikes which he's going to take back to India with him next year!

I suppose compared to how India's roads are supposed to be, ours are a doddle!

Our eldest cat was not moving and fast asleep. Wouldn't answer to a call. My wife makes me get up to see if it is dead.

Nah, he's just asleep.

He's only 17. Poor wee thing must have been in the middle of a good cat dream.

Been offered a back office job at work, which means no more dealing with the general public. This means no more sob stories about how they were bullied into paying a fine just because they didn't bother buying a ticket before boarding, or idiots demanding compensation to make up for the distress of their seats facing backwards. More importantly, it means no danger of being trained to take calls, as there is no way I could deal with someone shouting and screaming at me (which happens a lot) and would have walked out. Also it should mean more standard working hours, as starting 7am one week then finishing at 10pm the following is really starting to annoy me.However there is also the possibility of a pay cut, so I'm not singing from the rooftops just yet.
