What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Not funny. Stereotypes like that need to.be stamped out.
You don't get mugged in Liverpool.
You might look out the window one morning and see that someone has taken the Mersey in the night, but they will have done it under cover of darkness and nobody will have been threatened.
I've actually been to Liverpool and it was quite pleasant.
I did get accused of being an Evertonian by a bloke in a pub though.
I was like no mate, my team are far shitter than them.

After watching that, I kind of understood what made that female police officer pull out her firearm instead of her Taser....

That was pretty shocking , but adrenaline , driver trying to run , I can see why she panicked though some of the cops are out of control

I saw one where they approached a black guy double parked, asked him to take the key out , no no i'll just park over there , no turn it off, next second he's gone , nobody got run over but the cop fired 5-6 shots into a moving car with a lot of traffic about

My £6.27  nut arrived from the local mazda dealer. Bolt was a smidge cheaper from the dealer than a mx5 specialist which is the grin.  But no one seems to sell the nut so the dealer came through with the nut and bolt next day.

Excellent service

Or pay 6 quid for the correct part next day and crack on with life.

I fucking love Suspension Bridges. My favourite is the original Severn Suspension Bridge as it was my first experience of one and the world's first Aerodynamic Box Girder Suspension Bridge too.

This fucker:

...will be the longest span of any Suspension Bridge when completed. The suspended section is about twice the length of the Severn Bridge suspended span... 🤓

Managed to burn a load of branches cut down last autumn. Nice big fire, I like that.

I also found that the box hedging has been hit with Cydalima perspectalis (Boxtree Catapillar). Sold a spay treatment, but that did not work. So cut the plants back as mush as I dare and burn the cuttings. Fire number two , but a lot smaller this time.

People seem to forgot about all the associated costs. Same when I get bits from Merc. I'm amazed that 20 years later I can order all manner of odds and sods by just giving them the chassis number.

I can do the same with my w124 and that’s getting on for 30years old. And some things are cheaper from the dealer than eBay.

I found that too when I had a 1986 300SL in 2012. The dealer even had screws for the dash. I always politely ask if they'll still give me 10% off for older cars. They seem happy to oblige.

Compared to Citroen ( who have actively destroyed much of their old car spares) it’s a revelation and really does mean you can run one of their old cars as a daily.

Unfortunately not,

Flanged, fine pitched with the deformed locking method ( i forget the technical term)

Dark in colour so the gold plating must have come off.

Plus vat!

Its a shocker for sure but its £18.53 from mx5 parts.

In the past 3 weeks ive learnt these really are Fun to drive, good looking, and i really enjoy using it.

But from a tinkering perspective these wee mazdas are a complete pile of wank  to work on.

Somehow managing to have something just in the way of the item you want access too.

Not so much the design but the corrosion everywhere that saps my will to live - everything gets a good coat of coppaslip once I've wrestled it apart.

I like that in the comments, someone points out that the joke needs explaining to 85% of the Welsh population.

I like to take the piss out of my Dad.  A man who was born in Nelson, Lancs, England to English parents, who has an A level in Welsh or what I like to tell him is like having an A level in Harry Potter books.  It's largely made up* and only really useful in very niche groups.

*I know it's a language that is 1000s of years old, but why let that fact get in the way of taking the piss out of your own father.

Yes, this. I love mine, even the wife likes it but it took me 20 minutes to get the bloody oil filter off the other day.  And the rust everywhere - how do they do it? Had the power steering pipes rust through recently, how does that even happen?

So this weekend is going to be all about removing the fuel tank from my Austin Westminster and treating the inside to POR15. Maybe I  will put up a thread, especially if it goes ok.

The amount of new builds I see on a main road is ridiculous.
