Marshal , its a Singer , cage is coz i used to circuit race it years ago back in the day when i could afford 998s , retired now but still great fun , new ones balmoral grey ( shiny primer colour ) ah well

Thought it might be a Singer or something due to the badge.

Whats the score with the indicators not having sidelights in the same unit?

Oh, and lets have some pics of the new purchase (please)! :)

Just got back from a nice holiday, its been over a year and 5 months since I last did so it made a change. Ive been seeing alot of shite on the roads recently too, so thats a bit of a bonus, anyone in the Bishop Stortford area should check out all the shite still around there. Passed my college course too so thats good news too.

Sidelights are in the headlights which are halogens as sealed beamed originals are shite

Heres the new one , needs inner and outer sills and probably a load more when i dive in , having said that a lot of it is really solid , might just get saved .

Heres how NOT to preserve a car , stick it in a garage covered in mud up to its neck and full of crap , Pratt

I'm glad that someone has put this on Youtube.:D

It's the beginning of a film I really like called 'Spoorloos' also known as 'The Vanishing'.

It's only a minute or so, but it is of Eighties French Motorway 8)

I just hope they also post the Motorway service station bits....

In fact seeing it has made me want to watch my DVD of it later...

Crappy paint 'match' will be sorted in due course, I'm just happy that I've got it useable again. The f*ck off £90 battery I bought 2 months proved it's worth, churning it over like a good 'un to gt some fuel through before it burst into life.

Out of the garage for the first time in months...

Will go for a run out in it tommorow.

Got this fella last week...

For some reason I thought it was about 3 inches long but he's at least twice that.

Very entertaining fish, when you open the lid on the tank he blows water at you and he'll swim up to the top of the tank as soon as you walk in the room.

Yesterday I got a tank mate for him. Same breed of fish but a different type, this one is only about 3 inches long...

My daughter then decided she wanted a marine tank so we offloaded her fish and terrapins into my lad's tank and we're in the process of cycling this one...

Need more live rock etc then should be ready to 'go live' in a couple of weeks or more.

That imp looks okay for £150. Not a bad colour scheme either. What are your plans for it?

Lovin the fish cavette. I must get round to purchasing myself some. Bought my nephew a fighting fish for his tank last year - didnt realise it was one. Lovely looking fish. All didnt go well though!

I'm happy that I've just purchased this batch of Autocar etc off eBay, 578 in total for £38.50.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0593606672

All covering my favourite era, and despite the large amount of mag's I've accumulated I don't seem to have many issues of Autocar.

There'll doubtless be a few duplicates - Trigger or anyone else interested?

Slight downside is they're in Malvern, which isn't very near Norfolk. I'd planned to go to Billing next Saturday (Toyota and other OJC's there), so I'm going to leave here ludicrously early, pick up the magazines and then come back via Billing.

Anyone need anything carting from east to west? There won't be much room to bring anything back though...

Posted

Wow!, No wonder your happy, That's a great collection for the price, Just a shame that they are so far away.

If there are any duplicates that i haven't got then I'll buy them off you Nigel.

Your not going to Helmingham hall then on Sunday are you?, If you haven't been before i really recommend it, The concourse drive is great fun to watch (If a bit dangerous).

Took the Amazon up the strip at Santa Pod, and raced a 221 who beat me.

Best quarter was a dizzying 22.9 seconds with a trap speed of 57 mph.

Then it cooled down and took MM5 and me back to Conwy with zero fuss other a fuel tank that's too small to tour with. :D

About 4 months after mentioning his accident in the grumpy thread, my cat is finally repaired! The metal frame that held his leg has been removed and he is walking around a treat. He has been locked in a small room for all this time and unfortunately has two weeks to go, but he'll be out and about soon!

Hopefully Saxon will be avoiding cars for ever and ever. Amen.

Got sick of looking at knackered engine sitting on driveway. Put it up for sale on Retro Rides, got offers of 80 quid. Put it on another forum, sold it for 150 quid, the lad came and picked it up 1 hour after advertising it!! 8)8)8)

Awwww. I'd keep him as a house cat from now on.

That's great news!!

Cheers! I don't think we can keep him in, he's spent everyday sat in the window and crying to go out!

I didn't realise I was concentrating that hard.

Do any of you fine people fancy sending me full size Amazon shots? (looks at Seth and M_Lobster).

Doing the drag strip was a riot. I reckon I could get it into the high 21s if I lost the spare wheel and boot full of rancid holiday tat, not to mention half of Birkenhead Tesco* in the front passenger footwell. :D

I was eating jaffa cakes in the queue, and one of the marshalls had a fit when my sump gasket dripped a bit.

New engine mounts would also be full of awesome, so that I could drop the clutch hard without it bogging down and sending shivers down the front half of the prop.

(*MM5 decided to comprehensively equip himself with food for the Rock Ferry - Conwy - Ace Cafe - Tooting - Santa Pod - Conwy trip, there were receipts and everything).

Posted

Dude, that's an impressive trip.

Can more of us do it next time?

Good, innit? :D I went to an event there with the Slow Car Club a few years back, and had a run up the strip in my mate's slightly 'tired' Dyane.

24 second quarter. Woo hoo! 8)

Yeah we can if you like. We'd have to find somewhere to stay in London though, as MM5 and me stayed with Paul H and his house is quite ickle.

But yeah, the four two needs to go up the strip full of fags and chips.

Whats making me grin, is the fact that I have bought 4 new half-decent speakers from the local PUMPIN BASS ICE STO' and fitted them in my Rover. Now I can turn up TEH SICK VIBES 2 DA MAX BRO INNIT, U NEEDZ IT 4 CRUISIN THE CREWE GHETTO. DEM FLY HONEYS AINT ROLLIN WITH A NIGGA 'F HE GOT SOME PUNK-ASS FACTORY FIT PHILLIPS STEREO! Posted

Courgette? Oof.

I really need to upgrade my PUMPIN BASS ICE as playing lots of cheesy black metal has killed the speakers to bits.

Are aftermarket speakers plug and play?

Yep, no problemo. PM me your email address and I'll sort 'em L8R.

A shiteists trip to the Ace sounds good. I quite fancy going as I've never been. Probably be a big disappointment but even so..

(Realises that I have just driven back from fancy London this afternoon and silently realises that I could have just gone when I was there. Ho hum).

The Ace is Ace if you like strong tea and burgers. There's a lot of interesting tat/history/photos on the walls.

The area immediately around it is great for 'buildingshite', next door there's an empty 'World of Leather' and a dodgy limo place with a pink stretched Lincoln up on axle stands  .

The RAF museum at Hendon is close, as is 'Wemberly' of course.

Why indeed I do. Annoyingly, I was 13.8 miles away at breakfast time this morning (according to Google maps). Fucksocks.

A quick multimap hit shows me that Canary Wharf is about that far from the Ace and I wouldn't want to drive that at breakfast time on a week day!

Watan, wang us your email too. :D
