What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Pumping my tyres from inevitable 8psi they usually are (after waiting for them to cool down from 200c to take the valve caps off) to 34psi always makes it feel like a new car.

The ones that make me laugh are customers that say how much better their car is running after a service when its been a minor ( oil and filter change) one .

Depends how long it's been since it was last done, if it comes out like black water then you would notice the difference.

Pointing out to well-off Thatcherites who have moved to the sticks that the reason BT won't connect them to the broadband network is entirely due to profitability and part of the free-market economics of which they are so beloved...

I made myself a phone holder during my lunch break! Its pretty shit, but mk1 holds the phone, and in a nice location too.

Mk2 may involve a cheap phone holder, a cassette tape and some cable ties, stay tuned! (i dont own a phone holder atm though, so need to find a cheap shitty one)

That reminds me, I found this in Poundworld the other day..

I have no sloping surfaces though, Amy has one like that in the slug, on the little shelf infront of the clock.

A plan I had was to hack a dock into the ashtray, but it seems like hard work.

Or one of these, but they look like they could be shit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-360-Magnetic-Phone-Mobile-Car-Dash-Holder-Magic-Stand-Mount-UK-seller-/231681937536?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368

Or a £12.99 vent mount, but that could sit too high, and it costs £12.99

I don't know why this is so hard to decide on tbh, but it is!

wasn't a recommendation, it's a very rubbish phone mount. The grin was for the "Similar seen on TV" badge!

I keep my phone in the door pocket and ignore it until I've stopped driving.

I want mine tappable so I can change radio stations as per the streaming radio thread. And sat nav purposes should I ever need them

But the windscreen is far away, and would look stupid, and I hate having stuff on the dashboard/infront of the windscreen

Whereabouts in Fl are you darkfour?

I'm in St Augustine, in North East Florida and the hurricane turned out to be a non event here. It's a bit windy at times but we escaped most of it. Still, the boss gave us the whole day off.

The oldest City in America, a beautiful place to be. I had lunch at Georgie's Diner there, years ago. Flagler College is an amazing building - glad the Hurricane went tropical and went north.

I got one of them phone holders that go into the CD slot, they're surprisingly robust for £3 off eBay. And the chances of me relying on a shiny round thing to play music is minimal so not really that fussed that it's occupying the slot.

I want the same sort of thing but for a tape player! They seem to be not made though

I was there when Floyd went through....

Watching all the "rednecks" dragging their trailers up north through Kissimee to get away from it made for entertaining viewing..and seeing all the local malls being cleared of water, baby food and bbq's too

Sort of car related. Has anyone else seen the Range Rover in the new Churchill advert?

But did you notice the crafty "Penis Rover" number plate?

I was watching Keeping Up Appearances on one of the freeview channels last night, and in one episode the sisters decided (actually I think Hyacinth did) to take Daddy out for a picnic.

Yes, it's this one...

I hadn't seen this one before!  A whole chase with the Rover and Cortina, during Mary Millar's tenure as Rose (always liked her version).  Top Autoshite telly!

Not seen this mentioned anywhere on here, but I seem to have recorded "All Aboard: The Country Bus" off BBC4 a few nights back.

It's been playing for ten minutes and there's been zero talking, just camera mounted on what appears to be a single decker Optare, driving through the Yorkshire Dales, panning around to see the scenery with the odd fact popping up on screen here and there.

Bascially, 2 hours of landscape porn. It'll be on iPlayer for a bit.

Edit: Half an hour in and there's some talking when the driver stops and takes a fare. "£1.50 please love" is about the extent of it. You can also hear the indicator bleeper. And now it's back to silent countryside.

saw this hero earlier on the way to pick up my cylinder head, just look where the trolley jack is, I think he'd have a headache after an accident

Carry on caravaning on channel 5, just caught it after flicking through. No idea if it's a one off or series but it's full of utterly tragic people, sad but strangely funny at the same time. The fat guy trying to do a YouTube video on bog paper while his other half sorts the awning in the rain was surreal. Proper old school car crash TV.

Didn't the boss of Renault in the 50's or 60's get killed by a simularly placed briefcase hitting him on the head?.Maybe this is some sort of tribute?

The mother told me she'd been watching that, she got bored after about ten minutes.

I'll have to give it a watch.

I think a trolley Jack to the back of the head would be preferable to having to drive a Scenic.

Is it sad that while watching never say never again on itv4 I've just spotted a BTH210 120hp trolleybus motor in the background?

There's a fair bit of quality chod in obscure old bongo films - I saw one the other week in which one of the female protagonists turned up in a white LHD SD1 - I think it was on German plates.

Just sat in the local tyre place getting them to fit my supplied tyres.

The bloke on the desk is talking sooooo much shit to people it's outrageous lol proper bollocks spilling out his arse.

Anyone catch the new Jay Leno show in the week?

I only caught 10 mins of it and was all about the Great Era of American Muscle Cars.

He paid a visit to his friend Tim Allen for a chat, but the cameraman always managed to keep this little beauty in the background of most of his shots...
