Studebaker failed to proceed on the way back from Goodwood. Here is Mark bognor attempting to bump start it by towing it with his Micra.

Mate told me of a Vauxhall FE 2300  For sale on FB, gave me the number - called the number, and asked him about it - all I got was ''make me an offer mate'' ???

Asked him about the condition etc...as all would do and he went all huffy ''Look Pal make me an offer or stop wasting my time''

Bloody mouth breather, called him a cockwomble and hung up .....

I am about to depart for Sussex in the Dyane of dreams. Might just pack a few more spares...

Sold the miserable golf to a mate at work with the understanding that if the next mot cost more than £100 I would pay the difference.... bit of a twitchy rabbits nose hour while the mot was done but with the result being only a headlight and a couple of rear wheel bearings needed I should be easily in budget...Good old VW

I'll be there tomorow, all dressed up and ruining the look by rocking up in the Cavalier. Not had a chance to clean it since coming back from hols. Might just do the door shuts though so my 50s slacks don't get dirty...

There you go again ya buggers!  MORE posts about broken Citroens and cleaning the door shuts.

;-)

Have fun at the Revival.  Haven't been for 10 years or so but it was a jolly good day out.

I'm thinking of moving the greengartside Astra along. 1.6 8v, 53-plate. 150k on the clock. Does have a tappety engine but drives lovely. Would £350 be too optimistic? It's got 10 months mot too.

Had a look at the Haynes BOL as I thought it may be an idea to clean the EGR valve - car is 13 years old, done over 100k and never been cleaned.

Having looked at its location, I have decided that it can remain there for another 13 years and 100k miles.

I hope that an empty 90 degree wash with white vinegar in the fabric conditioner drawer will help otherwise DEAD SOON.

Tell her you've converted the electric meter to run on waste veg oil to save money. The smell is an unavoidable side effect of this. For extra believability make sure you douse the microwave and the kettle too.

Mrs fp's dad needs a taller car so he can get in and out of it easier due to back problems , he's decided on a petrol dacia duster, 2014 car with 6000 miles on the clock for £8000 from a Renault dealer, good bit of future shite I thought

Have tried and failed to weld up the rusty front wing on the Mercury. Remaining metal too thin for easy repairs. The plastic wheel arch liner on the front right is missing and clearly has been for a while. Proper crusty. Have cut out the worst bits and done some old school fibreglass repairs to the front corner and wheel arch! Bit redneck but will do for now. Bit of sanding, filling and painting will make it almost* an invisible repair. Plan is to actually replace the complete wing and liner with new parts when funds allow.

306 Sump back on! Hooray!!

Still running like a bag of shit. Boo!!

Anyone done the plugs on these, theres some scary looking bits that need removing? Or am I just being a big scaredy cat?

Found a bit of grot in the offside B-pillar of the Yank van today.  Noticed a crack in the paint, poked it with a screwdriver and a whole chunk fell out.  It looked to have been fibreglassed in (there was also a scouring pad folded up in there for some reason) - it'd obviously been like that for some years as it'd been painted over and the paint job isn't new.  Unfortunately it's too close for comfort to the passenger seat belt mount so it's going to need welding for the MOT - which is an expense I could really have done without.  There are other odd bits of rust around the van but everything I've found so far is cosmetic - this is the first bit of structural grot I've come across.

On the plus side, the parking brake works, and after replacing a few bulbs and sanding a few contacts, so too do all the lights - the hazards flash rather fast, but my usual MOT station is not normally too fussy about that kind of thing.

I also discovered this beastie perched on one of the front bumper overriders.  It was there for ages and didn't seem to be at all phased by me poking around under the bonnet right next to it (or waving a camera in its face), but it eventually got bored and buggered off.

Fuel pump not doing its job, mostly, exacerbated by a load of shit in the tank as per every old car I've ever driven. I'm supposed to be driving it to Rutland next weekend so hopefully this is just a short term hitch
