That's worth a visit, if not for the lovely wheels but for this 'ergonomic' layout - takes me back...

Good innit?  My Visa is the same, although with the steering wheel on the other side obvs.

I went down to the village hall for Hogmanay, of all the people I could have ended up next to it was a retired Software Auditor from Microsoft! We had a good long chat about all manner of shite.

Good night, now I'm knackered, so goodnight!

Happy new year everybody!

Got about 40 cm of new snow last night, so I now have over 1 meter of snow and some of the snow piles are over 2 meters now.

Fiat 500 hybrid as a hire car. I much preferred the Panda I had last time. The 500 has a horrible driving position, feels as extremely tiny as it is, and has annoying notions that the totally unpretentious Panda has shed. The Panda felt more honest - the cheap dash plastics and stingy equipment are more in keeping with its character. How can they get away with such a cheap feel on what is supposed to be a fashionable, desirable car?

Spent last night in Gravesend dogsitting for the folks. Had a wonderful curry from a Sikh takeaway delivered by a very friendly man wearing a bright pink dastar. Turned out he owns the place and it’s very popular with the large sikh community here.

Can recommend Suman’s Kitchen in Gravesend if anyone has the (mis)fortune to be there. Absolutely wonderful food

I have been looking for a Previa for a few weeks now,not for me as I have my faithful Granvia but for my sister in law.

How hard can it be ?. Well in my experience an absolute fecking nightmare. Most of these around here are owned by the Asian community and are totally trashed before being offered for sale for top money then there is a mountain of jap imports with dubious history/mileages and despite what their sellers claim they are not ULEZ compatible if they're pre 2006.

I have done two tanks of fuel running around and had to pay three lots of ULEZ to khan 'cos my diesel car is deemed to be dirty yet it only costs £150 a year to tax.

I did find a really good one in posh leafy Weybridge but at the last minute i realised as it was an 06 plate it was £695 to tax it.

I eventually found this 2005 one yesterday at a dealer in Harlow it isn't perfect by any means but does have a wad of receipts adding up to thousands, 2 female owners and the clincher was the radio was set to classic FM.

It needs a stat as the temp gauge dropped to near zero on the M25 and annoyingly the heater fan is hitting it's casing or the bearing is worn.

I seem to recall the motoring press either poking fun or being rude about this era of Citroen just because they were 'different'.
Where I grew up there was one Citroen dealer within fifty miles - they rocked up to the Newton Stewart Car Show (1979/80) and brought a CX and a Visa. Being lads (and yokels) we poked fun at both in spades (no pun intended) but , quietly, I was blown away by the under bonnet layout of the CX - vast expanses of pipes, wires, plumbing - ooh, dreamland (I was young and sad once).
Realised a BX in 1994 (ish) and rather liked being different.
Never did own a Visa but did have a scary ride in one through London being driven by a maniac - wee thing felt like it was going to roll over going around Hyde Park Corner at an obviously under indicated  60 mph.

Spots of the year… so far!

Took the 940 for a nice New Years run over the Horseshoe pass and to Llangollen. At the top there were these two.

New Year cobwebs were blown out today with a nice run down to Knaresborough, to take the dog for a walk.

A 144-mile round trip, ride out to take the bloody dog for a walk.

Pictures like this make me question my decision to lock up my Maestro & Puma for winter. Great to see these two getting used.

If I had a thorough 'underside detox' routine I probably wouldn't be so paranoid about it.

Cleaned out the front of the carvan over xmas. Its a much nicer place to be now as months of muddy groundwork had taken its toll.

My reward. I can now see coolant is leaking into the footwell. Bumhats.

Strangely enough I was there for a few hours yesterday too.  Nice place to stop on the way home from Durham.

I think you walked past me. Were you with 2 ladies one with orange hair and the other pink/purple?

I think you walked down a set of steps to the riverside, where I was standing alongside MrsV8 and a puppy dachshund.

My current fleet at the moment, I have converted the maroon saloon and red estate to turbo diesels with the grey estate still being original with its 1.6 petrol. I have a GT2052 to go onto a engine with head studs and HDI rods eventually which will be even more hilarious in a 305 on 175 tyres. The red estate I got recently and was last on the road in 2012 and has had alot of new bits fitted to make it hopefully reliable.

couldn’t get the x1/9 out of the garage as it was far too windy and wet over the new year. Did a short walk yesterday though with views to port sunlight from malpas.

Aye, the older daughter and the better half.  I remember seeing a chap with a puppy and Emily definitely remembered it being a dashschund.  Sorry I didn't recognise you.

Southern Norway has received large amounts of snow in recent days and with strong winds, there are sometimes even blizzards. So everything has come to a standstill schools etc are closed and possibly the main roads will also be closed soon. And over 4,000 households are now without electricity.

I've had even more snow since yesterday but the strong wind means I can't use the snowblower to remove the snow until the wind calms down. I still have electricity but have a generator if needed. This is absolutely crazy, but if I'm honest, it's a bit fun in a weird way too.

Well, we haven't met but there are enough photos on here. I have a crap memory for names, as @gm will attest, but faces and places.

Left home at 0530 GMT to meet my taxi booked a week ago from my friends to the airport at 0630. At 0640, a phone call revealed no one had put it on the list despite the text I received on booking. Fortunately the bad weather in Southern Norway meant my flight was delayed by 40 minutes and I made it fine. Aberdeen had torrential rain and 7c, Stavanger has light winds, some sun and -1c but south of here is like above. Amazing how much difference in such small distances (relatively)
