The joys of being over 50 as I saw it described on another forum: waking each morning wondering what new part of your body will ache!

It works on a multimeter. It does not work in the car. There is NO REASON for this switch to not work.

This has happened to me - not with Marina indicator stalks - with switches that are connected with plugs. The contact pins in the switch moulding get stressed somehow when the plug is fitted and this stress deflects something such that the damn thing appears to not work. Unplug, continuity check and all is well.

Gave the car a wash and polish. Even did the wheels and tailpipes. And even did the glass.20221108_141845.thumb.jpg.ebe26e6cf4b9fcfd3800d0d70a0f1a5f.jpg

Probably the last time I polish it. I hope to move it on in the new year.

Those E60s really are growing on me at the moment.  I used to think they were fugly but as everything else on the road has got progressively even fuglier I'm starting to quite like them.

Did you get the valve stems sorted in the end on it?

Presumably that's quite a rapid machine. Is it coupled to an auto for effortless intimidation of other motorists?

Most likely just be a head gasket.

Rotor arm and dizzy cap needed a clean. It runs perfectly.

No petrol station shot as it had a full tank.

I had them done three years ago. The cost was a very reasonable £1k - that price included new rocker and upper timing cover gaskets. It meant a trip to Nuneaton but nobody would take the job on nead me - 20 hours labour.

It is quick. It doesn't have the low down stomp you get from a turbo diesel - you need to take it north of 3k for things to happen. After this the pull is pretty relentless - before you know it you are travelling at three figures.

It was either this or a 535d. I did view a  535d but it was higher mileage and not as clean as my car. The vendor freely admitted he could only get 27 mpg out of the car and that was why it was going. Plus the diesel six pots are a bit intrusive above 3.5k rpm.

Mine does low 20's round the doors and mid 30's on a run. I only put high octane fuel in it due to it's age although BMW claim it will run on the latest fuel.

The best compliment I have had was from my sons ' friend who I gave a lift to - he told his father I had an electric car.

Yes it is auto. For me the worst part of the car.

How is the FN2 going. Been waiting on updates but haven't seen anything?

I replaced the front dampers as they were shot, did the top mounts too. Not had a lot else to say about it really, it just works. I want to change the gearbox oil though.

What's making you thinking of selling it? Sounds like the perfect car for the most part.

Nice one! Mega low miles for one of those. Presume it’s a 12 not -24 valve?

On holiday in US, unexpectedly the hire car is a (brand new, had 4 miles on) Dodge Charger. It's giving me bad thoughts about what a good car the Challenger must be...

Having owned a couple, they're not bad cars. The 392 is fun (6.4, 475 horsepower).

I have had it for four years. It is 18 years old - if it developed a major fault I doubt anybody would want to fix it.

Spotted a broken down car earlier.

Except it was fresh from Copart with trade plates in the windows, writing on the windscreen etc

Obvious accident damage to the OSF. The wheel had a bit of camber.

Think they had tried driving it and released "oh shit, it's not driving straight, the bottom arm must be bent.."

When will people learn to just recover cars from Copart 🤣

No photo. But huge maybach outside work this afternoon - reg 9999JM. With chauffeur- most likely a very rich oligarch coming to see his multimillion pound auction purchases on Saturday.
these things are really big in person.

Recently discovered this little Youtube channel, there's some rather good content.

https://www.youtube.com/c/MovingOurWorld

What's extra weird is that I only recently learned about the Humber 10 and couldn't find much about them and then up popped this video on the home page so now I know more about them.  And so do you if you've watched the video.  There's some really obscure things on the channel too, like this DKW F1 which is another car I knew nothing about.

Back home, neighbourhood domination is now in full effect.

124's flippin class and hasn't missed a beat. Everything works.

Oh yeah, it was £2k.

The Youtube channel above introduced me to another new (to me) thing, the Lightburn Zeta.  I was going to stick it in the 'cars you just found existed' thread, or whatever it's called, and I can't find it so it's here instead.

It's definitely a thing.  Amazingly they sold more than one.  People paid money to own one.  Obviously I want one too because look at it.  It'd be the perfect companion to a Shamrock for when you want something a little more compact for buzzing around town.

At Barton aerodrome for my flying lesson.

Immensely enjoyable.

I can confirm that sadly Bolton Wigan and Southport look no better from 2500 feet.

When will people realise Copart is a fucking scrapyard. The cars there are all bollocksed, that’s why they are there! It’s not a place to get bargain. If you can’t afford a 3 year old Audi, stay at home, don’t invest your money into one that’s had a bang and sat in a puddle for six months thinking you can put it back on the road.
