Today marks 20 years from the day the last Fiat 126p rolled off the production line.

Love them or hate them, they're cute little bastards. :D

Just tried to get mud guards for the i10 for my 9 year old car - no longer held in the UK by Hyundai dealers!

Blimey. That's not a long stock policy...

Longer than Citroen.

I've been completely stupid and bought a car unseen of eBay from miles away. Train tickets booked for Sunday collection. It's a manufacturer I've never owned before, has a V8 and will certainly bankrupt me I'll imagine. On the plus side of getting old I've insured it fully comp with protected no claims for £155. How the hell can a V8 be cheaper to insure than a Citroen c1 I was considering.

The i10's rear bumper is actually slight deformed from previous impact in that there part of London that Ken is trying to leave (has he left yet?)

The only fix would be replacement. So I giffered it with some high build primer...

And some handpainted artisan skill*

For those of you saying, why the hell didn't you leave it alone? I hear you!

I felt better about my paint job until you posted the 2nd side, that looks pretty good!

2nd side is far from perfect but its a lot tidier. If i can get the other side looking half as good it will be a result. There has been duck tape over that arch for about 3 years now, im surprised it wasnt worse

Had quite an enjoyable day today.  Took the boat out and had a pootle up the river.

Then when I got home a package had arrived.

Exciting.  Made up for turning 41 anyway.

rivetted on?

Nah...that would be too professional. Just used fibreglass to bond it in...good old fashioned half arsed repair, but the curve of the tin will make a decent shape for the lip of the arch

The blue C reg Mini was owned by the chap with the Bentley in my earlier post. It’s been owned since new and unrestored! It was immaculate as was the Orion.

A wide variety there.

A few more turned up which I didn’t get a pic of. There was five MX5’s of which four were MK1’s.

I've given that paint work a light wet sand with 3000 grit, at least it is marginally smoother...

Not sure it will survive a car wash!

The 545 is going in for some paint next month. Garage I normally use wanted a whopping £850. I got another quote for £400. Guess which one I have taken.

Got to ask why the huge difference? Could well be that its an 850 quid job. Personally I would rather spend 850 wisely than waste 400. Paintwork is a tricky one, its either a good job or bad, no middle ground

Guy's work is good. Also he is Eastern European. The guys who did my valve stem oil seals were eastern european - they did the work for a grand while the BMW specialists ran for the hills.

Finally got the right locking wheel nut key for the daughters Tigra today so I thought I'd whip the wheels off and prep it for winter as its not moving much at the minute

FFS, I wish I hadn't looked, I can't believe that has deteriorated that much since its last mot

So that's new brake hoses all round, new lines all round, nipples, banjo bolts and probably calipers x 4 if I can't get the rotten remains out of the calipers

Great......

You’d think I’d have more important things to worry about, but those black plates on mark 2 Escorts piss me off far more than they should. I don’t care if it’s legal or not it looks shit. The Scimitar too.

Well the night before Mrs CSW CRV is due in for MOT, EML comes on.

Screenshot_20200923-202617_Torque.thumb.jpg.db646429fc235e43c174aad3ac7e07ca.jpg

Used torque pro to delete the code. Hopefully it doesn't make a reappearance before the MOT.

Genuine honda sensors are bloody expensive!
