I also managed to catch the Street View car the other day - outside my house with Mother Ghosty, and both my cars!

I smiled and waved.

Last time they did my road was 2011, and my house looks completely different.

Hasn't been updated yet, but am looking forward to it.

This is the third time I've been papped by Street View.

I imagine it has its own special feel during the night, so it's probably a good time to cross it.  I've also found somewhere to park up on the coast where the bridge can be seen in it's glory.  I want to get the full experience!

Crossing this bridge was pretty special, even in a 1.2 Megane. I did it by train and car, car being much more impressive views wise.

I stopped in a park called Sibbarp and got a good view of the bridge, it’s really quite something.

Have an amazing trip!

Coz I'm a Scot and don't want to give the gubbermint an extra £13.25 for the privilege.

Does anyone know what (if anything) happened to the two Sierra vans from Ireland? The thread stops in 2014 when the guy was selling due to ill health and they were being sent to Oldham.

Interesting thread. Hope the guy's alive and well.

Very distinctive vans (to anyone on here at least!), maybe someone knows more?

Famous people and what they drive. Tim Healy drove past us yesterday,on a retail park in a Aston Martin Rapide.

Pesky E14 wheel bearing bolts out with an Irwin bolt extractor and lots of heat.

New wheel bearing in and it's the wrong one, too many or too few splines, it was too wet to figure it out. FFS.

Anyone want to buy my MX-5? Rot free...

I'm just not arsed about it really. Japanese stuff just leaves me a bit cold.

Ghosty, how many whole English pounds are you wanting for it.?

You did buy an auto of a car where 90% of the fun is ragging the gearbox..

Anyway, one for @purplebargeken or @xtriple?

I agree. You’ll struggle to find anyone who likes autos any more than me but my MX5 is the exception....I really need to get around to sticking a manual box in it

I followed ( in the fiat) a very nice looking mx5 out of the car park in waitrose this morning, dark green with a beige roof. My neighbour has one too, although it’s not moved in years he bought it new in 1994.  The pop up lights ones are quite cute.

So you shop at Waitrose then?

Cost me £950 and I'd want that back, or close to it at least. Has three sets of wheels (two with good tyres), Raceland coilovers, Bluetooth head unit and JVC speakers, recent replacement hood with heated glass rear screen.

It's had a slightly iffy respray at some point but it's reasonably shiny. However it's completely rust free and never been welded. It's on roughly 80,000 miles/128k km.
MOTd to April.

Bargain, set of pedals and a clutch/gearbox from a scrappy.

I think I might be losing all sense of shite direction. I've actually started spotting Vectra Cs. This might be a similar problem to me liking the Zafira A. What is happening to me?

I test drove two interesting autos this weekend. The other one was a tiptronic Porsche 996 that a relative had recently bought and invited me to take for a spin. He had had the IMS bearing replaced the previous week as a precaution. It really was very nice.

The other one was a Citroen C8 that I test drove a few hours ago and may have bought if not for a rather bad oil leak. It leaked on the alternator and exhaust, so most likely a front crank bearing or some such. Shame, it was not too bad otherwise.

Pedant mode: the MX5 auto has different cam profiles to the manual version, presumably to put the torques where the ratios live (pardon technical terms there).

That's why Mr N Monkey is waiting to strap fi on his wee beastie (after extra pedals and an lsd)

Yes, I do. They seem to think that those of us in Surrey on the a30 can’t cope without. There’s one in egham, a mini one in Virginia water shell, sunningdale, Bagshot and sandhurst.
