Today's latest:

New jump pack arrived from Amazon (sorry!). It's a 'TrekPow' 1,000/1,5000A thing, which (once I realised there was a switch to press) started the Puma no problem, be interesting to see if it'll help fire the Transit up.

'Royal' Vectra: drive to work, help rescue mate's Nissan Note on way home. Car (Vectra) then sounds noisy, goes to garage, flexi pipe deemed culprit. Left it there to be fixed, walked home. 30 minutes later, car will be ready in half an hour.

Puma: booked in for an MOT so desperately jump started it, cleared some of the shit out (mobile shed) put juice in and drove it to garage where Vectra was. Swapped cars, drove Vauxhall home. Be stunned if the Puma doesn't need shit loads of work/uneconomic to do so, but have held back sacking the other Puma off in case I need parts. Which will include headlight and one caliper at least, I think.

ST170: For once someone equally nice and sensible has left a deposit on it.

Daughter's Corsa: Used to collect the latest cycle yesterday, going on 'Market Place' later to no doubt attract several more penniless, illiterate morons.

Daughter's FIAT: Garage coming to collect tomorrow to examine faults.

Transit: One day I'll clear out the tonnes of shit in the back and it'll probably do another 20mpg as a result.

This is a couple days old now but got E-mail from Google saying that they're going to kill off Google+. I'll now no longer be able to view bigfoot or flat earth discussions a-plenty in my trending section.

It also means I lose two hobby groups to do with security systems and such but oh well.

I had an email like that. I’ve no idea what google+ is?

That's precisely why they're deleting the service. Not that many people knew about it let alone use it, and Google's own patch to Google+ then made everything accessible through open-source software. Oh, it was also an un-revertable change to my knowledge as well.

If you have a Google account you automatically get a Google+ account and now a YouTube account as well, hence why many people might be a tad confused about the E-mail.

Like a couple of others, a colander containing 12 photographic examples of some fine* vehicles throughout the ages was posted through my letterbox today. I've put it on the wall where one of my wedding photos normally lives.

Let's see how long it takes Mrs D to spot.....

3 minutes of walking in the lounge. She laughed her head off at the Mazda hanging from a crane but it's 'being consigned to the man cave' when we move. I think it should stay in the lounge, she broke my AS coffee mug this morning :/

My Lada manual has finally been dispatched after 3 weeks of waiting. I filed a complaint and the seller came back to me yesterday giving apologies about the wait as she was in hospital with meningitis. I'll be happy when I receive manual now!

Google+ was their effort to take on Livejournal (remember that?) AND Facebook.  Ambitious, but rubbish.

Today was supposed to be car swap day.

The plan is to swap the 19 for something shite rated.

1.00 PM was the appointed hour for a rendezvous and I and the 19 were in position.

Sadly, it's all gone wrong. The mystery vehicle has had an FTP and is currently abandoned on the side of a dual carriageway.

Yeah? Well when me and 17-coffees were in Seattle last year we brimmed a Chevrolet Malibu (rebadged insignia) from under a quarter for... $30!

Well today's news.

I was a few hours from winning 4 x mint OEM alloys and Primacy tyres from a GT86 to use as summer wheels.

£42.

Checked now to see if I was still top bidder and they're gone. Auction pulled.

What a bell end. Does he get what a no reserve auction is?

Puma's only gone and passed the MOT! Bit of frantic parts swapping from the spares car, but seriously happy with that.

Had an awful January and February isn't looking much better. Be nice.

I joined the Mercedes club mostly to take advantage of the discount scheme (wish I'd known about it before I got the major work done).

I haven't been in a one-make car club since my Citroën days but I'm really enjoying the magazine. I was worried it might be a bit snobby but the chairperson's column is about a hand-sized rust hole in the wing of her 190, there's a fascinating article about learning to drive tanker trucks, and a piece about the W203.

You'd recommend it then?

I'm glad i have been married for years. This online dating shit seems grim. Like gumtree but without the 80quid cash 2nite mate.

I do, although judging by the photos I'm going to bring the average age down a fair bit (although that seems normal in any club). I'm going to a meet at the Hendon RAF museum in a few weeks, will report back from there.

I get 10-15% off parts and 25% off labour at the Mercedes main dealer in Brighton which is well worth having. Various other discounts too.

There appear to be three clubs in the UK, which one did you go for?

I got some better JDM mats for my Impreza for a tenner, too. Alas, it's acting something of the bell end at the moment.
