Want any opinions on the potential purchase?

I'll give you a shout if I do.  I want to see what happens with offer/survey first.

2 weeks with MX-3 have gone and I'm starting to like this little car. That tiny V6 seems like a nice thing as well.

Thingd that pisses me off is are the aftermarket head and tail lights but thats just me.

Here it is on my early morning ride:

Please notice the makeshift plastic and tape passenger window. Thought the motor has seized or something. Took the door card and everything off to see if I can somehow fix it or at least close the window.

After lenghty spanering session it turned out I just unknowingly flicked the 'power windows'on off switch. Doh!

Is it in your Kentish triangle Vulg?

That sounds like a euphemism. I hope it is a euphemism.

The Clio almost didnt want to start this evening. It did start 1st time but caught gradually suggesting fuel, rather than firing up after a few tries. There is a rich exhaust fumes smell when I get out of the car on occasion too.

Boy standing next to the i8 in departures

"Do you want to win a car for a fiver"?

Moi, " no thanks, I already have 8"

Him "........"

Mate who had a 182 (who I bought the TT off - see Haynes thread for pics of it) is currently chasing the same richness from the exhaust on his. Currently had new plugs and coils. I think even the injectors have been changed. Next suspect is the O2 sensor.

Wee Shogun passed it's mot today, not even an advisory, and 0.00 on the cat test too. Even I was surprised.. 25mpg is sair though.

As long as it starts well enough I will just ignore the smell as it otherwise runs perfect and returns good mpg. Its just one of those things which didnt happen on my other cars.

For the last five times that I have seen a police highway interceptor pull a car it has always been a newish Audi. Does this mean that the police have taken up the righteous pursuit of bashing the stereotypical hyper aggressive tailgating Audi man/woman, clearing the roads of this menace for me to go on wafting in my Jaaaaaaaaag Sport? Might be my imagination, but it is a nice thought.

Sounds like you are getting the hang of Clio ownership;)

Privilege Insurance sent me a letter - my renewal bounced because my credit card had expired. As I’m away from home working, my wife kindly phoned them up for me to get it sorted.

Privilege: Just a quick security question - what make is the car that is covered on the policy?

Mrs Skizzer: is it a Rover? He’s got a few cars.

Privilege: No.

Mrs S: oh. Skoda?

P: No.

Mrs S: There’s a couple of Jags I think...Jaguar?

Nope.

Is it a Renault 16?

No.

Rancho?

Sorry, a what?

He’s got a Lotus! Lotus?

No, not a Lotus.

Ok, is it the pale blue thing with the vinyl roof that’s got a metallic blue dashboard like a 1960s spaceship?

Er...

Hang on, is it a Golf?

No, not a Golf.

Oh. Wait - I think there’s an Audi....

Yes! Now we’re getting somewhere.

Great! Can I give you his new card number then?

No - we can only talk to the policyholder. Bye

Is she a named driver? I've always sorted the insurance on my wife car and they don't mind talking to me about it as I'm named.

Is that just before you get to the Brazilian stripe.

IIRC despite Skizzer's double figures fleet, Mrs S doesn't drive...

They won't talk to me on the Mrs insurance and I didn't* ever* get one of my daughters to say they were her and give full authority to me to change stuff.

Going to.look at a BMW 535d later....attachicon.gifblessing-priest-4793086.jpg

You'll need more than gods help if my tame mechanic is to be believed

I once asked him about e60s and he said "just don't".....he drives a discovery TD5 so they must be bad

FFS. Had someone go into the back of my BMW his morning. Thankfully the collision was at such low speed that there were no marks on either car (well, not on mine at least) I checked the boot, spare wheel well and underside the rear bumper. Not a mark anywhere whatsoever. Even the rear parking sensors are starting to work properly now. (Well, so far they have)

My BMW seems to be attracting a lot of negativity recently. Had a couple of near misses, a chap in a Focus nearly going into the side of me and now another BMW going into the back. Hopefully that's that. Shitty "Karma" Fuck off now.

I believe we call that top bombing. Excellent.

My first BX had the strut returns bodged with short sections of copper pipe. Seemed to work.

One of mine snapped off during its test on the xm. My friend who did my tests at the time busied himself with another part of the test whilst I pulled the remains of the pipe off where it went on the strut, pushed the now slightly shorter pipe on and wiped the lhm up.

My friend doesn't do my tests now, so I'd get a pail and have to go back...

(cue all the debate about dodgy tests etc)

Happened to me in the blue laguna. We got out, I assessed my damage, he assessed his from his drivers side and there was none. We shook hands, wished each other well and off we went.

He overtook me to go right a few miles up the bypass and his whole passenger side bumper was hanging off... Didn't hear anything so I imagine he just got it fixed, knowing that he went into me and would be liable for the claim anyway!

These flap discs have a genius idea. Threaded in the middle so you can just spin them onto your grinder.

Not cheap though! Only bought it as my local Toolstation only had one of the cheap 40 grits in stock and these.

Substantially more meaty than the cheapy though.

Will be interesting to see how well it lasts against the cheap ones.

For reference my Faithfull brand cheap flapwheel is still very meaty, while my dremel wheels are all depleated.

It seems that my moped, Junior, has reached the end of the road. While riding to work it lost what little power it has before loosing drive. Still seems to run ok, but not move. I suspect the drive belt has gone, which while not wildly expensive (apparently about £40) will cost about £150 to replace. This on a bike with a broken stud where the exhaust mounts (about £100 apparently) causing it to back fire when slowing down, a not entirely legal tyre and rear light that needs replacing. None of which is terrible, but the bike is 7 and a half years old and used 5 or 6 days a week so I think a line really needs to be drawn.

Can anyone recommend a new moped?  I ride on a car licence, but could take CBT allowing up to 125cc. Probably new as second hand mopeds are generally knackered, and Chinese ones are hard to get parts for.

I would / will be much sadder when one of the cars reaches the end, but Junior was always just for commuting and has been a bit shit for the last couple of years. Not as shit as the last one, Pedward, lets not even get started on that!....

What moped is it you have now?

Peugeot & Sym used to be good value, a 125 will always be less stressed than a 50cc if you can do your CBT.
