I would have smashed the screen on front of her and said no. Some folk take the piss.

I'd say: 4 hours at 44 quid an hour plus 43 quid parts plus £4.30 handling fee Equals £203.30. Shall we call it £203 ???

Here's my bank details. Pay now before you take it. No warranty.

Random set of electrical failings on my Focus this morning (indicators, central locking, brake warning light on among others) had me wondering if the alternator was on the way out.

Thought I would try looking at the fuses, this connector was flapping about under the interior fuse box.

Even I can fix that! Zero cost, phew!

Civic now has rear bakes, just needs bleeding and the handbrake rigging back up.

Doloshite has a new R9 rubber fuel line twixt pump and carb, tie wrapped to the brake lines around the bulkhead to keep it away from the engine heat.

Acclaim had a full tank of fuel last night, averaging 41mpg over my regular commute.

That's cos you're a winner at life fella....... no two ways about it

Had a cabin filter done recently has it ? . Im assuming a mk2 fucus

OK, Saab service.  A/c clutch has gap and not a/c does not work when it's hot. The fix would be simple if there wasn't car and intake in the way. Bah. Spark plugs and fluids need doing. Also wheel bearings and front suspension bushes have play... according to the MOT.

I can do the fluids and plugs myself, just need to work up the bravery to attempt the other stuff...!

No, not had a cabin filter, I'm not sure how it came loose.  It's a late 2009, so a Mk2 facelift or Mk3, depending how you count them.

I'm glad this was a free fix, because today I paid over 500 quid to get the air con sorted on my other (boring modern) car.

Having seen so many obesce people with tattoos I can only assume they must have had the tattoos before getting fat other wise they would have suffered a similar fate to Mr Kananga in live and let die.

I now seem to be the owner of a cheap Citroen C2 in a not very subtle shade of pink lilac. Hopefully this will prove to be cheap everyday transport after a few jobs are done. Annoyingly the aircon seems to work as well now the heat has calmed down. This means that when the cambelt is changed on the Xsara van of many miles it will be time to move it onto a new keeper.

My mate is a doctor and when he was training he had to work in maternity. One thing he never understood is the amount of women who had tattoos on their belly. When they contracted back down after being stretched made them look ridiculous. Even worse when they had a C-section and so stretched, shrunk and cut up.

have you seen the size of the thunderstorm banging away near/over  Denmark , if it was in England it looks like it would be from London to Glasgow and more !!!

Needed a small modern to blat about in to give the 605 a rest (and sort out the fucking exhaust rattle) and ended up winning a C5 Estate. Of course...

If you didn't see the prog on channel 5 last night about the M1 it's worth watching on catch up. Films from when it opened to today, the amount of chod is superb.

I liked the interview with the AA patrol man.

His ingenious method for warning approaching traffic of a breakdown ahead?

Throw lit petrol soaked rags out of the window to burn in the carriageway!

No rags left? No problem, just pour petrol on the ground and light that.

The interviewed policeman wasn't impressed at that suggestion.

Well we know where a spare one of those is!

I can remember Leicester Forest East in the late 60's, early 70's. It really was exciting to call there. Think the posh restaurant above the carriageway was called something like the Captain's Table. Loved the idea making a U-turn across the central res if you missed your turn.

After spending several evenings removing a broken engine from my friend's GSXR 750 WW and replacing it with a fresh one, his uncle (whose premises we patronised in the engine swapping) asked if I would like to weld the sill of his Vauxsuzu Frontrooper up.

Of course I would.

Not the grimmest of things I've ever welded, or the neatest but his brief was repair with no parameters or tolerances specified.

Thank ee kindly, if the pictures tell a thousand words, most of those were deceitful.

It was far preferable to welding the 45ft curtainside trailer chassis that had snapped 2/3 of the way through t'other day in that it wasn't galvanised. Or twisted out of alignment.

That looks mighty tidy! Is it four sail? ;)

Alas, it is not for sale, but I'll pass your enquiry on to the owner. Sorry about that.

Ah, sorry. While I have a character flaw in liking these old buckets, I am in no way in a position to buy one. I wuz being facetious.

Sorry for being misleading.

Faeces-tious you say, how appropriate.

(Just joshing, I didn't think it was that bad actually)

Currently broke down in the xm with a massive lhm leak. Time to test out how good Autoaid really are. On the bright side at least I made it in Tesco so I've snorted down a few donuts and having a coffee.

Liked for donuts and an imminent review of Autoaid services, not so much the ftp of an XM or the concomitant inconvenience and cost.

Pics or it didn't happen, though.

Wondered why all the new window wash in the 605 wasn't going on the screen, it's all going from on the ground as there is a leak. How do I even get to the bottle?!

Also it's still slow starting. It's so bad I think the 11 with half choke would start quicker.

Right quick Autoaid review. Arrived in one hour and twenty minutes in a proper recovery vehicle as advised to them on the phone, because Citroen and hydraulics. First class service and can't complain for forty odd quid a year.

Liked for the service, not the green leak. Where is it leaking from.

Brammy is it always difficult to start or is it just from cold?

Ditto. From the puddle it looks in line with the reservoir but it could be pipework under the floorpan I guess.
