Drove it through a hedge at speed?

It's the one you snapped a pic if at cannock. As for the off roading adventure, it was a narrow Derbyshire lane with no turning room. Road gradually disappeared until it became muddy and water everywhere. Water up to sills but no leaks. Very dirty emerging through that

The ex-explosive cabbage Pug 106 failed the MOT on Wednesday on a number plate bulb...and a shonky rear radius arm (1/4" movement).  Looks like a transplant job...

transplanting grease from gun into radius arm bearing?

My Fusion was built in Cologne on this day 15 years ago. Ugly thing. I've never liked it, but it's stuck to me like a friend you can't get rid of.

aaaaand its failed.

on the hand brake showing little or no effort which frankly i was expecting.

cos the hand brake has been crap for a while.

still, at least the word "corrosion" has not appeared on the fail sheet.

so next week its either the other halfs little gay jeep, or Marvin the Metro for transport too and from work.

Pictures or it never happened!

In my news, I just did a bin.

Clues:

It has an engine configuration I've never had before.

It's a marque I've never owned before.

Pick up next week some time.

If autoshite did hire cars...

It's actually quite nice. Proper auto box, and an actual key you put into the steering column and a proper manual hand brake, none of this electronic bollocks!

I'd have to remove them from the house first -  none in my yard at the moment.

Those trolley jacks are shit - if you're going to use it more than once every few months buy something decent.

SGS Engineering are really good for jacks - their 3T garage jack is hard to beat (but heavy)

Fitted the new brakes to the Legacy this am, whilst it was still fairly cool

Fronts went on easy enough,had a good look around whilst under the front but found no nasties

Moved onto the rear

Found no serious crusty bits,mainly the exhaust but as the rear box is about done it'll all be getting swapped over

Drivers side rear brakes done with just a couple of nearly rounded bolts to contend with

Passengers side gave a few clues as.to the lack of a handbrake

Yep,the cable has been chopped.

But what's this?

All the handbrake mechanism has been stripped out,nothing left...

Time to hit the scrappy and try find a complete hub then......

Check the filler pipe while your under that Legacy. They rot through the top as they curve under the car towards the tank. The part is about £120 so I fixed mine with petrol putty as everytime I pulled away all the petrol sloshed out the hole & onto the floor.

Yeah, it's really for the boot of the car and for a few odd jobs - will deffo invest in a £100 jobbie when finances allow

Checking through the history of my celica and the cambelt was last done in 2003 at 65,000. I didn't ask seller has I thought it was a chain.messaged seller to see if he had had it done . He messaged back to say he hadn't because it was hobby car and he thought it was a chain has well. So I shall get the cambelt done after the school holidays. Looks like I shall be doing what we all do and spend more on a car than its worth. Still it isn't has expensive as an ex wife. It's also more fun and nicer to look at ,so worth it.

Depends how long you are keeping it! Also you got it very cheap. Pretty sure you could get your money back even after the belt changes.

To be honest I think it will be staying for a while. I allways liked them and was looking but never got one. It was cheap for a mechanicaly sound car. Bodywork is straight with no rust but a patches of laquer peel. I give it a mild polish yesterday and the paintwork came up great ,so may do it again a bit better. Front bumper really needs painting,lots of chips. But I lover it and so do the kids. So it's worth it i suppose. You never know they may increase in value one day.

AS' (temporary) France correspondent reports that:

Banger Xantias and ZXs are alive and well and far from extinct here;

Renner Vel Sati are rare but the few that can be found are healthy;

The new supersize-me Renner Talisman is selling surprisingly well

On the endangered Citroen species list: ph1 C5s;

C6 (just one spotted in 1025 km)

Feared extinct: XM
