Yeah I reckon they're bonded. I'm not scared of bonding another one in, its just getting one. I had psv glass places in mind but I'm not sure if it would be expensive

Diesel PT went in for its MOT today, failed on the usual service item Lower wishbones and a rear shocker oh and no beam pattern which may be the silly blue bulbs a previous owner fitted. So 4 hours work for me and £100 for parts. Not bad for a £500 53 plate diesel with almost 135000 on the clock that is used and abused as a work van... My PT Cruiser love affair continues...

Been busy, so I have.

The 960's farting nearside rear tyre was annoying me, so I had the valve replaced. Heroic brasicness means it does few miles at the mo; belt is ricked and so is the exhaust.

The rear fog light bracket failed on the Piazza leaving it dangling, so I unplugged it. They're tacked on carbuncles that look like they came out of a Witter towing catalogue - doubtless added by the importer.

One still works for MoT purposes. There's space and wiring in the rear clusters to incorporate foglights from the factory. Why Isuzu decided to go to that effort and not finish the job baffles me.

Gave nob_van an airing and took the Piazza for a run before THE TEST OF DOOM beckons later today.  I definitely didn't donut it in its own length on the gravel outside the garage or drive the Impreza in a silly manner round some back roads. Not me. no. Tarox four pot caliper brakes are glorious.

Inside the unit you can see the 305 automatic estate. The cam is clacking its nads off. The yellow thing is a bumper assembly from a LOUTS SPIRIT belonging to my mate.

Gratuitous waffle wheels side shot.

That Isuzu fog light should fail the mot technically . You are allowed to have one only but it must be on the offside .

I was going to say that. Hence the MX-5 ones that hurt my eyes by being about 2" off centre on the car.

It passed despite said fog light technicality which meggersdog was quick to point out.

I was told to sort it out sharpish, mind.

The ones that bug me are the fake nearside - where the lens/unit exists such as Clio / Jazz - but the manufacturer couldn't be bothered with a bit of wiring and a bulb holder.

Those waffle wheels look great. Jealous of your unit.

Not just my unit. We share it.

That Volvo looked a bit special.

Autoglass chap has re-stuck my rear view mirror on the Mondeo. He said well known that 90s Fiestas, Mondeo's and escorts have this problem.

Apparently the sticky pads aren't as thick as sticky as they used to be (what is, lol!).

Also he noted mine had been glued on in the past (not advisable) and some of the glue had run down into the mirror ball joint which made it harder to adjust, making it easier to snap off. Silicone lubricrant has made this better.

Ah, but fellow 90s Ford owners may be interested to know that OEM mirror pads are still available...

OEM sticker/pad arrived, I can confirm it is virtually identical to the autoglass one :-)

The black one? That's another story for later.

Why have you had a 106 on axle stands for three years?!

Well, you know how it is, once you've found a good place to keep your axle stands you tend to leave them there.

Took the Sierra up to the cricket club today. Purely to lower the tone.

It worked.

I haven't, it's been 5+ years.

I went into Knutsford today and paid a quid to park the series1. I realised I'd wasted my money when I saw how this bloke did it.post-7547-0-54140300-1498321698_thumb.jpg

He was very particular about positioning, the first time he left the car well out.

He came back after a couple of minutes and considerately moved it in so that the wheels were just on the line. It is LHD.

Boring day. Hair cut, shopping, work, filled up two cars with petrol at the same shell which confused the guy. Exciting day tomorrow visiting the field of dreams.

It's now raining!

For once I managed to spend a bit of a weekend day on cars.

First of all I had to move all my Camry panels, now stashed and vaguely covered in a dry-ish spot:

The reason for moving them was that they were all leaning against the back of the spares Camry, which I needed to move so I could remove the LH front brake caliper. Sod's Law dictated that the one I needed was against the hedge. As it's no longer a runner I had to drag it forwards with the estate, which got me to here:

Once I'd pumped up a flat tyre and got it out of the hole it had sunk into it rolled surprisingly well for a car that hasn't been on the road for some time. Garage seem happy with the state of this replacement caliper, so I've left the estate with them to get it swapped across.

I feel bad that I didn't get this one back on the road, it's still pretty solid and it drove so well when I used it for a few months back in 2011 but realistically the parts on it are of huge use to the estate and the front end damage would have been a costly fix.

Having been reminded that it's Japfest next Saturday, I thought I'd better have a go at making the Laurel look presentable. So far it's been washed, vacuumed and the glass polished, I'll have to try and do the rest of it one evening during the week. Quite a novel experience to walk into the garage tonight and smell cleaning products - it only gets this treatment once a year.....

Sold the Megane this week. Had it on Gumtree for a week or so and had the usual low ball offers and a tyre kicker who said all the right things but obviously wanted to drive a petrol (said he was looking at diesels). Anyway got naffed off and decided to try Autotrader. Put it on for a smidge under a grand and sold it within 15 minutes! Lovely lady rang and left a deposit via paypal then came and picked it up a day later for the full asking.

Good value to advertise too, £9.95 for two weeks as I guess it was under a grand.

In other news I have bought another GTA (I think I'm addicted). This time a non Turbo, it needs some love...Autoshite edition Alpine.
