Yeah, I will do - but:

1. It's miles away

2. My camera phone is shagged; at the moment the photos I've shown you are more or less all I've got

3. It's coming back briefly to go off to another place to have the autobox done and it'll be in the dark

4. Set wallets to 'eviscerated'

5. ?????

6. Annoy regulars wanting an SVX thread

7. SVX thread

I'm sorry but you've been at no6 for a long time, have you seen the svx for sale over on the blue forum?

It's been snowing slightly here, the hills at the top end of the valley have a light dusting of snow, so I'm sure that by now the local Spar has been stripped of bread and milk. I did briefly consider moving the Land Rover so that it's at the front of the drive in case it snows more; then I remembered that I do not need, or want to go anywhere so potential snow chaos crisis averted.

If there's still snow up the top tomorrow I'll take the dogs up there, as the pups have not experienced snow yet.

Well we have at least 1/8 inch of snow here.

That will be Essex at a standstill then.......

Please tell me that's not a private plate that says 'Reb's'.

It looks like it says "Reb's Tits"

Housemate has an '04 Suzuki Alto that he's asking £700 for. Just been MOT'd and on 71k.

Located in sunny Portsmouth :-)

I'm hoping there's just enough snow to stop me driving to Dartford tomorrow.

I can confirm that it's not. It may be a private plate though, some of the early service history has a different plate on it. Both equally nondescript, so someone's wasted their money at some point!

So, I've got to drive over 200 miles tomorrow, in a car that looks like a 4x4 but isn't, with fat, summer tyres. GR -12.

Two bits of news!
First, the Polo of doom has been replaced with a genuinely quite nice mk4 golf, which was £50 cheaper!!

Egregious DRLs.

No snow in the North East as of yet, but it is expected. I am very surprised to see the South (especially SW) getting a bit before us, and I have seen Scotland on the news. :)

Snowmageddon, well a bit anyway.

I'm sorry, I'm a bit humped with the amount of money this is about to set me back.

Interesting standards I'm being held to here. There are plenty of people who don't share their cars with the board.

There is no obligation attached to membership of this forum. You don't have to post threads about your cars to qualify.

I've said I'll post a thread up when the car's running properly and I have time. I can't photograph what isn't available to me.

At the moment, it's 100 miles away having work on the diff; it then comes back to me for a morning and it's off somewhere else to have the gearbox done. My DSLR is knackered and my camera phone takes and stores photos when it feels like it. I have posted all the photos I have of it unless my recovery software plays ball.

£2250 isn't bad for one provided the box isn't about to cark. I'd need some evidence of fluid/filter changes before handing that sort of cash over.

In the Sunday Telegraph magazine, yesterday there was an article that pissed my wife off somewhat. Written by a woman who had a NO SPEND year, and detailed that she'd spent £400 on take away coffee alone in the previous year.

I'd say £400 was a bargain.

(She reckoned she had saved £22K in a year by not buying anything that wasn't either Mortgage, Utilities, Food or Mobile Phone Rental)

Got divorced 4 years ago, had no job as was in wife's business. Got a contract role and I did the same, saved hard and paid last 24k off my mortgage 3 years ago and have been doing the same ever since. The difference being it paid for the 3 months gap in contracts over the next 3 years and left me a nice bit of pension pot change. My total outlay every month is about 800 anything else is invested.

Never know what is around the corner!

This week, I put my neck out and said to an associate "If you want me to provide any more Ideas for your start up, I'll need either paying or some equity"

We now have a tacit agreement that my Business Development Ideas and Crowd funding ideas, are worth 10% and he's going to see his accountant about paperwork.

This time next year Rodney, We'll be millionaires* (or not)

*The nearest competitor who is a household name turned over £288 million last year and made £178 million whilst screwing their clients out of money they don't have and we want to turn a slice of that market upside down.

Risks : For me? I waste every evening working on something that is never going to work or it will turn out that the competition, actually is owned by the mafia, and will send around the boyz to kill us.

If I make enough to give up the day job, it will be enough.

Randomly, I have just bought a Microfiche reader in an auction.

Must be a subconscious desire to open a tat motorfactors, or fill my house with stuff I'll never use.

someone I know bought one of them and said it was the worst thing filling his house up with shite.

Here's a question, a girl i know bought a fairly new BMW 3 Series 3 months ago from a garage but had to return it under warranty last week due to some problem. Yesterday the garage was delivering it back to her when they crashed it writing it off.

She's now concerned where she stands as will she get back from the garages insurance what she paid 3 months ago as it wasn't even her driving the car and she's also been given a rotten 2002 Ford Focus to use as a courtesy car which has a weeks mot left on it and she's been told to use it on trade plates which doesn't sound right to me? I told her to speak to the citizen advice but I'd be well fucked off if i was her.

Depending on what's happend the garage may just give her back what she paid for it to avoid going through their insurance.

As to the loan car I'm pretty sure that counts as abuse of trade plates and she's likely to get done for it if stopped. Plus there's a fair chance of the plates getting nicked as I'm assuming they are going to be left on the car wherever it's parked

This evening, I was glad that The Aero is my daily driver:

It still took me over an hour to drive from West Thurrock to Southend-on-Sea, despite the main roads being completely snow-free, due to the innate incompetence of the average south Essex driver, which tends to manifest itself at the merest hint of snow...

Note the blue snow below the car's headlamps, which is due to the windscreen washer reservoir being filled with neat screenwash, which is an effective - if not cheap - way of preventing the windscreen, tailgate and headlamp washers from freezing up ;)

It was the whole trade plate thing which surprised me, Its showing as taxed so I'm guessing the plates are to cover her insurance but I'm sure you can't just drive about willy nilly with plates on the car any time of day with with your kids in the car too.

Garages insurance will have to pay up, if its a decent garage they will make up the shortfall.  On the flip side this is the point where the girl discovers she paid way over the odds for a 3 series when the insurance company offer only £££ instead of £££££££ that she would have paid the garage.

As I say, decent garage will sort out a refund, but some cowboy outfit will get the insurance payout and make a peanut offer to the girl, hence she loses out.

If only she had just bought a quality motor off of here or something from our ebay tat thread....
