Good work Mo, hope this job provides a steady income so you can get turned around.

Well done Mo - you have my sympathy having to come to Warrington.

Said goodbye to my mother in law today - we have a void in our lives that will never be filled.

On the warmest day of the year.

A warm day for a warm person.

This is an absolute quote.

Her: What's up? What's the matter??

Me: Bad news.

Her: If you've bought another fucking car I'm 100% leaving you.

Awkward laughter. Not well received.

Well at least she didn't make you choose.......

Anyway one in, one out works well enough.

When faced with the question "you love that car more than you love me" can I strongly recommend that you do not pause to think about it :)

Actually, I think very early on in our relationship, Mrs DW caught on that it was very unwise to ask that question because she suspected she knew the answer...

Today was day three of my quest to become fit, run the Cardiff half marathon in October with my daughter in aid of awareness for autism, and for the third day, I have not partaken of a bacon, sausage and egg balm half way through the morning, and haven't had sweets, crisps, or cake or biscuits (provided by some one cause they were a year older) nor did I have a samosa or 6 (my record is nine) which seem to appear in the office in boxes of 100 when someone is leaving to go to another department, or division. And I have avoided a supper of cornflakes with sugar.

Also for the third day I have shuffled around Alvaston Park in my new (now very muddy) running shoes. I can barely walk now.

I also did 7 sit ups this morning. - I'm hoping to get to 10 before Friday.

Cheers lads. Gonna try and avoid thumbing for lifts if I can. A lot of the time out office will sort jobs according to where we are. Certainly by Friday I should be by home.

Don't forget to utilise Shitely to your advantage, I can do M40 J2 to 6 quite easily depending on the time of day

Do you work at Rolls-Royce Pod? Thats what my office is like. Flippin cakes, pizzas, samosas, and whatever else floating about every single day it seems like.

Thank you and really sorry to hear that.

My condolences to you and Mrs_Bren :(

I have no idea what the previous post meant but decided not to Google it in case I get labelled  :?  :-) .

Yesterday's car browsing did not come up with anything sensible.  A Nissan QX for £995 attracted me, then I remembered that I did not enjoy owning one eight years ago, despite the ultra refined V6.  A Chevrolet/Daewoo Kalos caught my attention briefly because I liked the interior.  10 seconds later my enthusiasm wained.  I am thus resigned to throwing money at my Pug 205 automatic.  First stage will be next Thursday when my OMGHGF diagnosis will be checked, then an estimate given.

Haven't started the Merc since before Christmas, but kept the smart charger connected the whole time.

Started first time yesterday, gave her a wash and a quick once over, straight through the MOT today no advisories, feels really strange sitting so low down after using the Landcruiser continually.

Will probably sell it but might be a bit salty for here, its had a small fortune spent on it which obviously i'm not going to get back, doesn't get enough use with us, done 950 miles between MOT's,  always tried to keep her out of the salt whenever possible and the dogs not allowed in it either, hence it gets used less and less.

Plus:

FIAT starts first time now.

FIAT stupid clippity cloppity noise 'fixed' by cable tying handbrake cable from whence it protrudes to something else under the car.

Negative:

FIAT back box tip falls off.

Went to get 306 out of garage to remove Speedlines prior to scrap: Verdict: CBA, it's going as it is.

Just been training in Warrington for the past couple of days. I'm now a trade-plate carrying fleet (read: car mover) has contract, trade plates and all over the UK at the moment.

Good luck Sir.............................I did it for a few months last year................stressful, long hours, crap money, difficult to get lifts, as everyone assumes all hitchhikers are axe murderers.....................apart from that, I enjoyed it

Nice one on the job, and can I suggest if you know where you're going in say 48 hours time you see if anyone on here can give you a lift, even to the nearest station? Might save time and money if so!

If you find yourself in and around Cheltenham and need transport give me a shout and I'll do the best I can - I know the struggle a little bit when moving my own stock around the country so more than happy to help

No, but thanks for asking.  The 205 will probably get fixed provided the estimate is not ridiculous.  If not, I'll be looking for a small to medium sized automatic saloon, hatchback or estate.  Citroen automatics will not be considered because of bad experience with their sealed for life (bollocks) autobox. Fiat autos are also out because rubbish.....don't like DMF nonsense or servo'd manuals.  I'm an awkward bugger to please, hence fixing the 205 is most likely outcome  :-D

P.S.  Forgot to mention - I don't trust modern CVT boxes either.  Have had DAF type.  They work and can be fixed relatively easily, but not sure I'd have a DAF or Volvo 66/340 again.

Following on from Pillock's excellent recent tooSavvy-esque selfies in front of iconic motoring locations, I grabbed the opportunity yesterday for a Savvy selfie in front of an actual Savvy. The first I've ever seen in the wild.

Erm yes. Current client is Fwazer Nosh , but "we" are all on the Rolls Royce New-clear site inside the razer wire. Previously I have spent too much time at Rolls Royce Aero in Moor Lane and with 200 people in each open plan office it's pretty much someone's birthday everyday. in every office. I once did a lunch time trawl of all the floors and brought back enough food for a party.

Plus when I was there I was sitting next to "Jane" - lovely girl, once you got past the fact that she was a serial cake baker, and mad as a box of frogs.

This was the Christmas 2013 "Fuddle" in D1

Indeed.

One of the office's I work at in Scotland has a funny setup. There are about 100 staff and you have to buy enough butty's/rolls or cakes for everyone on your birthday, it's mandatory apparently   Our office is right next to the Kitchen and when an email goes out saying it's their birthday help yourselves to x and y there is literally a stampede!
