Since the guy clicked buy it now on eBay, I have a four serious enquiries where as before the last week just idiots.

I really like that, but that dash must be distracting to live with, especially at night. I remember being impressed with the sheer speed the Nissan Leaf i drove accelerated so christ knows what that must feel like.

This might give you an idea - my time with a slightly less powerful one.

Failing that, Kryten suffers proper speed-induced tourettes in this properly quick one.

A Tesla Model S remains about the only current production car I really, really want to try out.  I saw loads around Alesund, rather a well-off area if the boats in the harbour are anything to go by, and it was rather eery walking past one as it pulled away easily on a very steep hill in almost complete silence.

I always try and put my dysons on facebook around the end/beginning of the month. People get their dole money then, they just dont shift during the middle of the month, especially a 5 weeker like last month

When selling cars I always try to aim for around the end/start of the month, if your selling a Ã‚£700 car it makes a difference if folk have been just been paid.

I read that Tesla have upgraded the twin motor one to have a Ludicrous Speed mode.   Any company that references Spaceballs can't be all bad surely?

There's also a mode so you can change the digital display so the car shows as james bonds submarine Lotus Esprit on the interface.

Perhaps they go to plaid too?

Total car check says it's a Jaguar, 'model unknown', 3000cc, white :)

Looking at pictures of the back of modern jags, it's an XE. I have seen it about (Warwick) a few times before, but never so closely.

3000cc in an XE is their 340hp supercharged petrol motor, nice

I found it odd that a non-standard car is still in use after 12 months. What are they testing in it?

Posted

Yeah, there's a new Jag model coming in to fit under the XF (new Xtype replacement?).

As it's a test model there's nothing to say it's not been 14 plated to confuse, either that or it was built a while ago  and it took a while to be put together as a car.

Tweet that photo to Auto Express or equivalent, they might retweet it or something.

Spookily I was behind this on the M69 linear carpark today....

Does anyone know if Richard Grant or similar did a Tailblazer/Heckblende for the Rover 200/400?  I'd like one, but I have this feeling it doesn't exist.

Whenever someone mentions the Safari I always think of Master Rallye:

i think the world had moved on by then- you could always look for the body coloured panel rover did later on

Mate up the road has had an oil leak on his Cavcraftesque T-reg Corsa, I knew it was an oil pressure switch but not much else. A bit of digging around has found that this is a common problem and so easy, cheap and simple to change, a blade of grass could change it. So I've ordered the switch as it was very, very cheap and hopefully see it back on the road in a few days time.

I'm sure Richard E Grant produced a mock Georgian hand carved boot ornament for the r8.

you could attach it using "No more Withnail and I"...

The 1300's year old alternator with 4,000 miles of use under it's belt died this morning.

Current number of functional vehicles in fleet now 0. Bah.

Dyane is (pretty) solid now apparently. Getting closer!

I'll be heading over next week with a set of wheels and a master cylinder to coax the brake system back into life, and will then carry out some pre-test checks and perhaps actually drive it a bit (on private land, obvs). OMG FETTLING CAPERZ. Given how long it'll take for the logbook to come through, I'll be amazed if I get it back home before September. Seriously hoping it'll be here before Chumleigh Shitefest.

Certainly for the time being. No budget for doing anything about it, but I quite fancy an art project. Not enough hand-painted A-Series Citroens around these days.

Just received an update from DVLA which reckons I should get the V5 on or around the 18th August. That would be in time for the 2CV 24hr race...

As long as the art project doesn't involve painting it yellow and drawing teeth and dragons on it with a sharpie pen.

Er, ah, er, no. Definitely never crossed my mind...

I am glad your getting back to an A series car, somehow it seemed all wrong that you were not driving one around to frighten the sheep with. I even felt guilty, I have one on the road and yours was not running.
