sent the little gay jeep for its MOT today.

this, is the car which is/will/may be replaced by the lexus LS400.

in fact the lexus was bought cos the vitara is now getting very frilly about the edges, and has many interesting rattles and squeaks when on the move.

so much so that we thought that the chances of it passing the test, without needing some considerable money spending on it where at best, slim..

well, its only gone and passed!

after we spent all that money on another car......

oops!!

Fresh MOT just means you can put the price higher when you sell it!

Stole this off FB - it is a period photo taken in Aberdeen. I trust I do not to go into any further detail as to why I have posted it...post-17378-0-29169700-1503564915_thumb.jpg

Do I spy a dangly mirror?

No grey grille, though!

Looks like it's a 1983-86 base model. Well spotted!

As we won the PIP Appeal yesterday... the current Renault is staying in the family.

It is totally $hite, of course, and the tooSavvy 'finger of fate' has moved to recommend this when the replacement is required....

Well done Savvy. Good on you for challenging the DWP, the shower of bastards.

Base model 3-door Sierra at that...the photo was probably taken before the idea of the whaletail rear spoiler crossed someone's mind.

This has been going round the interwebs for the last few days, but seeing it again made me chuckle:

24hrs and I get the keys to something new and hopefully stress-free... In some ways, pretty excited, in other ways, kinda meh.

Is anyone going to Anglia Car Auctions on Saturday?

This has taken my eye and I'd like to see what it goes for (or you can bid on it for me if it's no reserve and no-one else puts their hand up ;-))

At a swedish shop in my swedish car. Any swedish music to put on while I wait for the other half of the shopping expedition to turn up? That's not Abba preferrably.

Reb, if you have modern spangly digital music playing equipment then Retro FM Stockholm is the SVM approved Swedish station of choice.

I hope you have better luck than I did. Nowt wrong with the car really, but the dealers were just so incredibly useless that I leave my 16 plate Abarth parked 20 miles away in my mums garage and drive a Talbot Express and a VW T25 as it's less stressful.

Despite it's running fault it is a very nice car and unusually for a 12 year old VX everything still works.

A bit of contradiction there. ;)

I do, but it's of the cheap variety so doesn't work particularly well, and I don't like streaming radio

I don't have space or time for another, but sounds very saveable. Bet it needs more work than initially thought though!

As posted on another thread, the diesels are getting very little love and are disappearing.

I think I may have sold the Honda. I'll believe it when it actually drives away, but there are encouraging signs.

Won't stop the Proton ROFFLE though, so don't worry if you've had a flutter. If you haven't, still tickets left!

This all means that the search for the perfect car goes on. Problem is, the cars I really like, ie 1990s ones, seem to be getting rather rare all of a sudden. I mean, when did you last see a Xedos 9 or even a Toyota Camry?

The second part of that is a massive disappointment, I must say. I was just about to reach for i-player.

I've been out of the house since 4 o' clock.

When I left I was the high bidder on ebay of a Honda Concerto that finished during the evening.

Thank fuck I now don't have to explain that to Mrs H.
