News from the 305 van front. Actually more back than front, really.

Tom the Dodgy of this fine parish sold me, at an extremely gentlemanly price, a back axle for errm, well a 305 van.

It was robustly dispatched to a bod wot does stuff with axles in the Northamptony area, within days of purchase.

Mr Axel Rose, for that was his name, (wasn't really, shame) informed me that for 300 pieces of devaluing English coinage, he could make it like new again and with  "nipples". Fnarr!  Stripped, fnarr, and powder coated, fnarr, and new barings, fnarr.

So if anyone see's me in the future and says things along the lines of, "nice nipples! when ya doin the rest of it" will be treated to a seriously disdainful look.

After the axel is returned I intend to have the whole van lifted 2 inches. Got a blokey wot does all that sort of stuff, coz I aint got room an kit. I've got new front springs, slightly stiffer, and all shocks. Only need to get new rear springs.

Then its offset 1 inch roundy things all round and then it could be WTF have I done.

I was thinking the same thing, I have a spare axle off a c15 but should really be thinking about refurbishment before fitting it.

Cav. Loved the hatchbacks. Never got a chance to have an estate, but always thought they looked as good as the hatch. I'd have one again now, given the chance. Get it into the fold!

Was working on the 2CV, heard a vehicle struggling for traction. Found this outside my garage.

Please set up a humerous picture of the 2cv or nippa attempting to tow it out...

After a lot of thought, I've just ordered four cans of dynax S50 to spray into The Volvo's door sills and chassis rails, a product which claims to do everything but save the world. Has anyone got any experiences - positive or negative - of this product?

I found this today. Caught on fire in the sign-writers yard in 2014 and has been stuck in it's owners yard since. Had to climb over a lot of scaffolding to get to this point.

Last week while on a delivery I got in the golf and turned the key only to be met with quite a loud pop. A bit of a prod revealed that yellow ended wire being no longer attached. I have no idea how it happened and I wish this car would stop doing things like that.

In other news I washed the pug properly* for the first time since I took it off the road last year. It shines up quite nicely I think.

Is the UC or UB version - the UC is the correct stuff to use in cavities.    4 cans should do a big motor in the areas you mention.   Get the cans nice and warm - I lay mine on the car port roof before I start but a bucket of hot water is good, too.   You will find the stuff creeps and sprays a whole lot better than similar products - Did you order a lance?   Make sure you clean it out with paraffin or similar after use as they can clog up a bit.

By snaking, twirling and withdrawing the lance whilst still spraying you should get good coverage.   Clean up any overspill as you go - its easier when it first appears.   I know its expensive gear but try not to be too economical with it - you need to get it everywhere!

I treated my Minor doors six or seven years ago with a bi-annual top up, these are a notably difficult area because the flair-out ends in a real moisture trap.  So far so good, likewise the sill inners and chassis legs.

I believe Mrs DW took a photo of me attempting to tow it out with the Bluebird. Amazingly, the clutch had enough bite for wheelspin! I then decided not to push my luck and told him to call recovery.

Picked up the JammyBastardRoffleWin 306 cab from BourniteIdentity today, the collection thread i wrote up wasn't very interesting so this post will have to suffice.

Obligatory 'fill up' shot. No, I couldn't be bothered to turn my phone round.

This was followed by the A1. Gah.

A second stop, this time for bladder relief and my back was killing me. No phone turning again + excellent location choice.

And home with my 205. Uneventful journey home, but my left leg is now twice the size from the heavy clutch.

Ah yes. Heavy clutch is why I sold my 306 many years ago. And my XM thinking about it...

Today, I've mostly been invading Jaguar meets with the 2CV.
