Fucked Maxus £234 Gloucester

Oh and a word of warning. The Maxus panels and gear linkage are flimsy as f*ck. I rate them as vans, but you do need to bear those two things in mind.

Well I've not heard from him since his last PM to me earlier, so I can only guess he's bought it and on his way back to Cheltenham.

Looking at the traffic out there at the moment, it'll get a good stop/start city traffic test...

Look at this pile of fucking scrap

It’s SLOW AS FUCK and to add insult to injury, limited to 75 so it cuts the revs. I thought the sticker saying such was just a remnant of its past with RM but no!!

I honestly reckon you've done good here - time will obviously tell but, on the surface, you've got a shit van from the AS manufacturer of choice with a royal provenance.

Ah. Must be fucked. Made it home though.

Didn't need the high techhit it with the biggest hammer SiC recovery and repair services in the end? ;)

Did the Citroen dispatch guy get back to you? Annoying that was email only as that probably would have been the best one out of the lot!

It is a bit fucked. Something clunking from the front suspension (it’s had a recent drop link, could be the other side if both weren’t done)

Clutch/flywheel is a bit juddery when pulling away.

Slowness.

Temp gauge doesn’t work but the heaters do get warm.

If anyone knows anything about these piles of arse please let me know, I think it needs a fettle. Volunteer polishers also encouraged - I have the gear just no driveway

Nine hundred sovs were not parted with.

Has it got the ghosting of the original Royal Mail livery on it? On Ex rm vans it usually sticks out a mile and I'm strange but I wouldn't mop it as it would get rid of that link to its ragged to death past.

Split boost hose possibly, assuming no warning lights on the dash?  Obviously I can't tell from your post exactly how slow it is, but I would expect one of these to be capable of hitting the ton with relative ease if it's running right (and not restricted obvs), and acceleration probably not that much slower than your Duster.  They really are quite incongruously quick for an old van - probably due to the tinfoil panels keeping the unladen weight right down.

Cos I'm cool like that I've just been reading some Maxus reviews and buying guides, they do mention that the payloads are way higher than the equivalent Transit/Sprinter etc, probably because the panels are pressed from 0.2mm steel and its got about as much equipment and comfort as a coffin.

I’ll need to go through the pipe work etc. Somethings definitely not right.

Failed a MOT for excessive smoke then passed - can the boost be turned down to stop being so claggy?

So now I know what the EDC light means.

And it’s on.

When the standard EML went off fine I didn’t think it would have a second engine management light.
