How do you get rid of moss on door rubbers and mirrors without spending £2843910383021930302021049490 on wonder gunk?

*looks at Volksangyl*

Autosmart G101 and a small detailing brush should do the trick. I have plenty of both you can use but i think you are far far away from me.

From a non-two bucket wrongun, I use a pressure washer...

Also great for clearing out crud behind plastic/chrome/etc covers and trim too.

I had some cheap-as Aldi mould remover I used, but it ran out and all I can find is like £5-8 a bottle, so I just scrub at it now instead.

Edited to reflect my own recent experience.

Much ta.

I can buy the G101 but it'll have to be a toothbrush I'm afraid. Not a detailer, me.

Vote for G101 and a small scrubbing implement such as a kitten or something. If really laden then jet wash the fucker first.

As Shumarialto said  ;)

However, he may not have used a kitten.

Old tooth brush to clear away, then white vinegar should kill it

What mossy heap have you bought now?

There is moss 'pon my 960 estate. It is annoying hhhh.

Poundland nail brush and G101! Go over with the pressure washer as close as you dare first to lift the majority off, I find this also blackens the plastic a bit as it takes off the surface layer of oxidised plastic! (Obv be careful with this depending on your chod)

I concur with doublesmoke. Seasonal jetwash blows off all the green and black shiz. Obviously bad news if you've got flaky paint though.

or get some spray "elbow grease" brilliant stuff

Smear tuna on moss, release the kitten.

Rough tongue will remove moss.

Sorted.

TBH that sounds a bit fishy.

Leave the moss where it is, and brag to your Prius-owning friends that it is there for carbon-offsetting purposes.

I have used a nectar card* to good effect in the past. Took ages mind and I didn't even get any points for all my efforts.

* other loyalty cards (Halfords Trade, Homebase, Blockbuster video card you didn't realise you still had) may also work

Or tell them it's a bonsai rainforest.

My car also looks like it is returning to nature, despite being used almost daily.

Don't use neat traffic film remover , place I used to work at 25 years ago bought 3 new sign written curtain sider trucks , guy goes out to clean his with a pressure washer a long brush and a neat bucket full of traffic film remover because he couldn't flind any soap

He brushed the TFR all over the curtain then went to turn the pressure wash on , when he got back all the sign writing was a smeared drooping mess, they hadn't had it a week

Cheap shit sign writing then, you should be able to put neat tfr over anything on a vehicle exterior without any ill effects if it’s done right.

It’s a bit like how when a car has had a smart repair done by chips away or someone like that, they advise you not to put chemicals like iron x, tar and glue remover or anything near it (ever, not just until it cures) whereas a properly done body shop repair will be like factory paint and once cured you can put all the cleaning chemicals you like near it.

Anyway for moss in window rubbers etc your best bet is a pressure washer to blast all the loose stuff out and get rid of most of it, then put the windows down, spray with a degreaser and use a credit card or even a small ice scraper to scrape it off.

What I will also say is if there’s moss in the window rubbers the car is likely to be covered in tree sap, and there will be moss and stuff in every book and cranny, in between roof gutter trims, door handles, door and boot shuts, inside fuel flap, round the badges, inbetween panels, tail lights, etc and is an absolute ball ache to get rid of it all, I did a 16 plate Jeep Renegade with only 1500 miles on it which had been parked under a tree and it was covered in the stuff in all the hard to reach areas but when washed if you stood a couple of feet away it looked brand new,

Good advice here but I have two things to add....I wouldn't be jet-washing my cars anywhere near window seals.  If these are a bit past their best its all too easy to actually wash them out (don't ask how I know, etc....).  It also risks forcing water into places rain never gets and from where it never dries.....

Secondly, Elbow Grease is brilliant stuff and I use it all the time but they seem to have changed the formula to a more aggressive one - get it off paintwork as soon as you can.

Finally a bit of silicone grease fingered on with a paper towel will help prevent the irritating black stains that sometimes run down flat vertical panels from dirty rubber.  For a while.....

Sorry, don't agree on the tfr thing, it can stain trim really badly and paint.
