Volvo Limousine (can be driven on normal car license)

£1,750
Bracknell

Selling for my friend,

A Volvo White Limousine, full black leather interior and auto. Full MOT until August next year and Privite plate. Best thing is that it can be driven on a normal car license.

Just had a new fuel pump fitted and he has seen a bulk standard one on eBay for £2,300

If you have any questions please pm me, no tyre kickers or time wasters. This would be good for someone who wants to hire it out for weddings or events.

The description makes my brain hurt. Full MoT (except for the 3 months since it was done), wtf is a "bulk standard one" and why is it almost two bags? Cos you can drive it on a car licence like literally ANY OTHER CAR?

I'm mad enough to do that, but nowhere near mad enough to pay what he wants for it!

That's mental money. Imagine turning up to your special* day in that.

Would be a fucking awesome people carrier but again not at that money

So what did we all use ourselves on the Big Day....?

Well I have had two Big Days - must dig out the Instamatic prints from the attic some time.

First time round - bride arrived in Mk2 Honda Accord whilst I drove myself in a borrowed Fiat Supermirafiori which required a tow start (it hated the damp and man, it pissed down on my day) from no less than a Toyota Crown with a Rover V8 engine which belonged to my best man.   After the wedding I drove the Fiat to an even damper Cornwall where it behaved impeccably....

Second time, to the current Mrs Rocker, I drove myself in the Minor -  she arrived in her own 260E chauffeured by her son.  I wanted to rock up in the Bedford CF we had but that was vetoed.

I've never been daft enough to get in that situation.

1981 Cadillac Fleetwood factory limo, in AS colours.

You'll know the Majorette Cadillac limo?  I've got one, painted up more or less accurately for it :)

Oh and in true AS tradition, it had recently had a clonk on the front, so one corner was looking a bit tired.

C380 SPK a 3.4 XJ6 , I had a brand new XJ40 sitting on the drive but Mrs N wanted the ' old' (3 years old) S3 pool car because it was metallic pinky red . Proper AS spec too , tweed seats.

My now wife arrived in a Rover 75, I rocked up in my tatty Mk3 Golf. We departed to the hotel in the Golf.

Although still a little while away, I'm still deciding what Mrs_Sterling will arrive in once we get our big day at some point (we are looking to get married legally here) I'd have liked it to have been a nice Rover Sterling but I don't have a nice Sterling anywhere at the moment. The e46 is a bit annoymous so looks like I'll be renting some modern bilge.

^^^Got to be a Sterling somewhere for you, on the day!

#1: I arrive in best man's Herald saloon, bride arrives and happy couple depart in BMW 3.0S.

Off to honeymoon in VW 1600TL. (V. noisy because one cylinder head was loose)

#2: On foot, both of us, there and back.

I ferried my mates mother in my white metro convertible. It was about 7 years ago. I have pictures somewhere.

I cannot see any photos or the facebook page for that Volvo, but this is on sale here for $NZ7000.00 or 'bout GBP 3300.00. ex Singapore P.M. and bulletproof so ideal for weddings.

1996 S90 Royal and 133000km's. I would happily marry this one.

Good enough reasons to book a Lake District wedding?

All offers depend on me not having changed these vehicles by the time the Big Day rolls around, but at the moment both of these are staying.

I married in 2014. I arrived in my Great Grandfather's Herald convertible and the best men were in my Jag XJ8. Mr and Mrs left in the Herald and we took it on honeymoon to Devon too. Perfect day

I read the post title as 'welding'

My first wedding was in a red Xsara Picasso which was her mum's motability car.

Second wedding was in a white mk6 Escort convertible that belonged to her sister.

My current lady loved my Nissan Prairie, so I'm holding out hope for a white one.....

Posted

Nobody would have me but I have done a few weddings with a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix, 1961 Chevrolet Impala and my current 59 Impala. I often get asked if I do weddings when the 59 is at a show but as it's a two door hardtop it can be quite difficult for the lady to get in and out whilst wearing a humongous frock.

Posted

Yes, that's my logic with Huggy.  I don't think a two-door car is ideal for the job, or even suitable really, but people do seem to like an eyecatcher.  If it's at all possible that my Rover can help Mo out though, I'm well up for it.

Likewise. It may not be an 800, but I did a friend's wedding in the 75 earlier this year and it went ok (apart from the ribbon catching the windscreen wipers when it started raining).

If wanted, I am sure I could get the ribbons and my chauffeur's hat out again.
