Peugeot 405? Must be at our Destination

post-4673-0-78954400-1540739160_thumb.jpeg

Once at Carlo’s I thanked and said goodbye to Bucketeer as the HMC_jrs were getting restless, Had a quick look at the roffle s60, very nice!

Wafted back in the Xantia along some Devon lanes in the autumn sunshine...

Thanks Björn, the xantia looks lovely too!

First thing to do is disconnect the immobilizer pad (when code input and running) to bypass

Looks lovely by the way

Bucketeer must have your place as a favourite on his sat nav :-)

I'm a bit sad he won't be piloting it all the way up here, but it'll be nice to see Bramz too.

If you end up looking in the fuse box for whatever reason, there's a gap where I removed the one for the alarm. It had a tendency to go off randomly, and I think it's a TADTS job.

Funnily enough just as the old for sale thread was added to the Ex many shiters Jag x300 has ended up at Björn-HMC MOTORS, just for 24hrs, mind.

Long story short- Bramz7 bought the Saab 900. This deal became a Saab- jag swap for a jag bram7 was yet to collect. Then Robt and I did a deal for the jag I had yet to see for the ex Bramz7 renner19 that’s going to happen tomorrow. If you are thoroughly confused then so am I.

The Jag is currently sitting next to my Xantia that both Robt and Bramz7 have owned previously.

I had noticed that there was a champaign Xantia missing from my drive although I never owned one!

It's officially impossible to keep up. Anything for sale right now?

More or less in terms of custodian-

Bramz7- 1230-7pm 2nd nov

Björn - 7pm 2nd nov- 4th nov

Robt - 4th nov ——

But in effect Robt has been/ is currently the new legal owner.

Yeah it's a bit complicated. I agreed to buy and then did myself in with another purchase I'm off to get today so it had to go....

Great car though. Can get a touch boring thundering it down motorways but in tiny A and B roads it's a proper hoot to see how much you can give it. For a heavy car it handles quite well!

I think I've caught up. Much confusion.

I would like to buy the jaaag but in a few months time rather than a few days...

In case any of you are inquisitive while driving the little button in the coin pocket by the drivers knee operates the starter to bypass the park switch. I luckily didn't try it to find out while driving down the motorway!

Perfect winter beater.

Neighbour is also jagged up.....

Top trumps.

Will an xj sport 3.2 out drag an x308 XJR?

Yes if the xj 3.2 is in fine fettle and the XJR is broken and rusty

I've got to be honest...it was a little sad dropping it off but I genuinely have no need for it. Had an old bloke complimenting it at Reading services.

Same really, but I’ve had a few of these so that itch has been scratched, a Renault of the 80s/90s is something completely different that I’ve not had before. The jag is deffo a credit to the AS collective and an example of how keeping a car on the forum can help safeguard it in a way. It’s old but clearly cherished by all recent keepers.

Robt will be a very good home for it and he deserves a good’un after previous 90s jag experiences.....

I'm going to miss not living inside the RobT/Bramz/HMC triangle. You're never short of quality rammel for sale.

Indeed, I'm looking forward to driving a Jag that actually works properly!

But in all honesty past experience has still left me with THE FEAR, so I'll mooch about in it for a week or so then roffle it off sharpish.

Fat_Pirate bought this one the same time I bought mine. The latter was cubed long ago whereas this is still here, so it must be a good one.

I massively have THE FEAR with cars nowadays - just see my MGB thread. After driving 480 miles or so back from Dundee to Bristol it pretty much resolved it. I think I put nearly a thousand miles on it in just over a month and of course completely fault free.

The only thing it probably could do with is a gearbox fluid change to make it smooth on every change again.

It did 300 miles with me fine. The fuel economy was a bit worrying on the peaks and troughs...think it used 40 litres.

Such amazing fleet manoeuvres! If I can sell off my two Jags sharpish, I would be interested in the AS XJ Sport. I have come to realise the right Jag for me is one that is one that is not too good and not too bad. My 3.2 Sport ought to be living in a garage, it’s just too good to be on a driveway. The XJR is too rough to keep but now that the engine has been fixed, I can sell it off as a running spares car. Also it’s danerously fast! By the way doing rear wheel bearings on these is a nightmare!

If our boys were in a band they'd be called Orchestrammel manoeuvres in the dark?

I'll get my coat.

but really

Oooooph, I don't appear to be able to keep up, safe to say there is 'pass the parcel' and the music is still playing.

The Jag deserves a thread of its own that passes to the new owner with the car

Busy day at HMC hq. Was great to meet up with wuvvum and Robt. We talked shite, obviously. We drove shite. We swapped shite.

Robt goes back to that London one Renault 19 poorer and one forum jag richer. Wuvvum has a longer trek in the alfa 156 and I’ve inherited the Rover 45 diesel hot rod.

Fwar.  Full report on that Rover Rod please.  I stared at that for sale ad at great length.  Sounds like a right good steer/sleeper/beater.
