I reckon Mark Proksch would be the obvious choice.

Fleet news-

I no longer own the little 207, loved it but decided to get something bigger as my 2 day post at university has seen me drop off Ms_HMC’s middle teenager, and her 2 friends, at school en route.

I seem to have taken this breif rather seriously as i decided £1400 worth of S class would do. LWB version for extra comfort and multiple charging points for teenage mobile devices, heated seats all round etc.

Will you be wearing a chauffeur's cap and opening the door for them too ?

So much car for the money but so much to go wrong.

I look forward to plenty of updates, all full of praise and good news.

Will send a courtesy pm if (when) time comes, im not sure i like the styling - but it feels a lot more solid than a w220.

Its a “320 CDI L” but confusingly has a 3.0l V6- its hardly like the “320” label was some sort of iconic calling card for MB after all.

Ah, a weasel flavoured S-Class Merc. I mean, it's great for getting around and about for daily duties which a "blend in the background" car will do.

My old 407 and these growing ULEZ/CAZ Zones has put me off ever having a diesel ever again.

Presumably some financial catastrophe is waiting for it round the corner with a big club?

There's some rear arches right there.....

Nah - that'll wait until it goes up to @grogeeland.
There's actually an inverse Bermuda Triangle bounded by Exeter, Okehampton and Plymouth.
Within the triangle, unicorns and fairies ensure that anything automotive from The Stable of HMC runs like the well oiled machine it once was. But, once the vehicle leaves the magic triangle - the magic is off, gorn, curdled.
Unicorns cannot handle the M5.
Fairies get shot down at Exter Airport as suspected-Russian-not-Russian drones.

Nice car though :-)

That's true unless you're a local. Once you've lived there for a decade, you get your own lucky Cornish pisky who travels with you and wards off evil breakdown spirits.

Grogee: south-west till I die (well, 1976 - 1993).

Cornish pisky

FiL has a Pisky on his key ring.
Worked for him - only car of his that came a cropper was a Jetta that burned out the loom. VW (Launceston way? Maybe Exeter) flew a new loom in from Germany and repaired it under warranty.
Then my wife parked the car into the front of a butcher's shop in Bude (but she was not using the Pisky key AND she'd moved to the evil Torquay)

Sorry I agree, it's too near Exeter and they're all inbreds

(I appreciate the irony in this statement)

*cough* He's north of the River Teign - you can't taint him with any Torbay-ism afflictions.
Mind you, Dawlish is further up that way and I have it on good authority that cousins marry there. Often. ;-)

Cannot confirm, the triangle's size might be significantly smaller or excludes a very specific section of road up the Dartmoor where the Jag decided to ftp.

That or it was the first time it was properly booted.

The wolseley has been my transport today.  Its running fine but i recon balancing the carbs will be next in my list.

IMG_9424.jpeg.b6c38fcbfc2ef3312051454fed807102.jpeg

Its a 6 seater so quite practical and spacious, and accessorised.

IMG_9426.jpeg.f2196da0a07c70f39ec42ac81e6f3a88.jpeg

And for the top model envisaged as a sort  grand tourer- according to its designer Gerald Palmer- quite compact by our standards today…..

I wouldn't even haggle at that price, I'd just hand over the £400 as oon as possible.

Fleet news- got the VSCC buff form sorted for the Swift; sort of a homologation process if we are going all group B in our terminology, has been done.

Its wheelbase is 8 feet 6 which is the crossover point of the classes 1 and 2. Or more simply put whether it would face spritely austin 7s or thumping Ford model A’s on trials- up to the discretion of the event organisers subject to class sizes.

IMG_9334.jpeg.930575fa2af9157937ab8fd99fad67e3.jpeg

Meanwhile the 2025 VSCC Exmoor Trial assault* with my old austin 12 will be published in the November 2025 classic and sportscar - available from tomorrow im told.

@HMC

Your children are smiling in the photos. Is this genuine joy or did you have to bribe them to look that happy?

I’m jealous. My 15 year old son has a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp whenever he’s in a car with me, regardless whether we’re rocking in my W123, the Sapphire, the ‘B or any of my electric steeds.

Neat, I remember seeing the pic of this on the Bodinnick ferry but didn't realise you bought it from Fowey.

Went to school there and now live very local (in fact folks still live there) and have never seen it in my life!

It’ll be better. 14-15 is the worst age.
