Looking forward to the You Tube flick when you sew up an acre of material to make curtains?
Or has it got them already?

Oooooooh someone get that bought, I'd deliver that, and pay for my own fuel

Well bought, Shads are good cars.

And as for the inevitable, I don’t need another Crewe product.

I have no space.

Colour me very interested…

The Billy Idol White Wedding car. Fantastic. I can't wait to hear how the robust suspension and electrics are holding out.

Pic in Crowndale Tip please.

Wow, this is next level bangeromics (assuming it was as cheap as your usual purchases are), looking forward to reading more about it and the Merc.

Yes it was breaking money basically but the guy with it (who breaks range rovers) could t bring himself to pull it to bits as its in working order, it already dodged being banger raced earlier last year.

It really doesn't look that bad in the photos but as usual they can hide so much. I'd love to drive one some day, not sure if I do enough to justify owning one though.

You absolute legend.

I've no space which will make avoiding the temptation when it come up for sale a bit easier.

You should do a Harry Metcalfe and drive it to the Arctic.

Or pretend you're the Sheik from Cannonball Run. You just need a set of Cibies, an aerial and the outfit...

Amazing, but I do feel a Shadow owner would be a cigar smoker rather than a pipe.

My Grandad had a couple of these, the last one he spent a long time restoring and it was mint. He told me that they're miserable to work on, to never ever get one, and that he wouldn't be inflicting the car on any of the family after he died.

I quite fancy one.

Yes, but not to smoke inside the car.

Seriously, I thought small arch Shadow 1’s had progressed beyond the Wedding car/ white Dulux, Banger Racer,  HMC level to become bona-fide classics.

Theyve got a properly dodgy image havent they. I for sure wont drive it with a white shoulder length wig , tracksuit, yellow shades and a cigar. (Now then now then)

They're old cars which should = simple and cheap to fix.

But I get the impression from YT vids that this isn't the case.

On the upside, it looks like the roof is very strong.

Many of these look fab from 20ft away but up close they are bulging with filler. Like the brides they transport.

The mechanic I've been taking my cars to recently (Dave) has one that he hires out for weddings and stuff. He's a good guy, not too expensive and into old cars. Which makes me feel like I could safely* buy this from @HMC when the time comes with no worries about future maintenance. Also, while picking up my 13 year old daughter from school today she suggested that my next car should be "not an Audi" (I had just remarked on an A8) but something "properly posh, like a Rolls Royce or something".

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it. PLEASE CAN I COME AND SIT IN IT?

Here's Dave's one.
