Sold Mercedes S430 W220 Roffle - Car Gone!

SMS Friedrich der Grosse is for sale.

 

1999 Mercedes S430 in green.

 

The good:

Mechanically sound. Goes like a car with a 4.3 V8 should, and stops well too. Gearbox and driveline are smooth.

Comfort: All the 'comfort' electrics work. Seats, Windows, mirrors, rear sun blind, sunroof, etc. Cream leather upholstery, genuine thick pile overrugs. Heated front and rear seats.

ToM - shitloads of it. Good for wafting along Her Majesty's highways until June or July next year.

Not taxi-engine'd or taxi coloured.

Can achieve 33mpg+ with cruise control on the motorway.

Tyres have loads of tread.

 

The bad:

Bodywork not the best. Grot on the front driver's side arch, and door bottoms. Nothing major however. Paint very flat and tired on front wing tops.

Radio doesn't produce sound, probably needs a new amp (circa £90 on eBay). Head unit already replaced and works.

Battery goes flat after a few days of inactivity. Used every day it isn't a problem.

I still haven't received the V5. I do have the new keepers slip, it's going in the post tomorrow with a V62.

 

In short, it's not without issues (to be expected at this price!) but it'll either break for much more, or with a few quid thrown at it make a nice motor for wafting about in.

 

I do also have a set of the 18" Mercedes 'Difda' alloys with excellent tyres that I was going to fit, available for an extra £200.

Thats a fairly unusual color for them, most of the time they are grey or that odd metallic light blue.

 

Looks cleaner than most of them seem to do now.

I suspect the previous owner forgot to send the logbook off, so I've had to send off for it myself. According to the Doovla it should be here shortly.
