That's a good looking car Eddy, good luck on Sunday.

I used to do work on an early 827 fastback, it had the Honda V6 and was a lovely lovely car to waft around in.

Something something floorpans something something sills.

Seriously though, that looks lush.  I do like 800s.

Good luck with it all!

I have always wanted to try an 800. Definitely the Rover I aspired* to have.

Something something Rover.

Really, I went to jack the front of the 200 up today and the bloody sill's holed.

I may have to give in and buy a flat cap for this one...

PO says it's ridiculously fast, he's enjoyed embarrassing "da kidz" at traffic lights.  That suits me!  On the ebay thread, someone said this engine makes 136bhp.  That's the same as Bodie's Capri 3.0.  Should be fun!

Jodie, yes, it's the same one.

I love 800s almost as much as I don't love 75s. A properly competitive car for the class it was aimed at , not some ill conceived , wrong sized retro throwback that has only gained any popularity because of the demise of the company and misty eyed nostalgia.

Although I do wonder if the National Trust grille and analogue clock on the Mk2 and its positive effect on sales of a by then slightly outdated car , could be said to be responsible for the whole Retro style thing , Rover 600, Nwe Beetle, S-Type, 75, Bini, Fiat 500- would any of these exist without the bit of chrome and plastic being met with such enthusiasm?

Well in, Eddy, look forward to reading all about this when you collect it.

Good luck with this one eddy. Looks fantastic.having watched that video. You really need a blazer and not just a flat cap for this.

Well bought, Eddy. Hope it can successfully fill Hyacinth's hole.

Yep this looks brilliant - not a popular colour either so certainly looks brilliant/different.

Waiting for the collection thread with excitement.

These old Rovers are truly magnificent.

Well done Eddy.

Jeremy Clarkson-approved.

Clarkson approves?  Right, it's got to go.

Is something broken? It should have 180 hp.

How Much???????  Bloody hell, really?  I was impressed enough with 136 out of a little four-pot.  No wonder PO calls it fast!

Do be careful Eddy of any Claptrap the vendor may feed you!

Autoshite semi-regular Lord Sward as a prospective customer at 3m?

There was turbo and non-turbo. Wonder which this is?

Posted

Aha, that might explain it.  There was no mention of a turbo in the listing, so it's probably safe to assume it doesn't have one.  Note, this logic doesn't necessarily apply to all circumstances.

Looks really nice BTW. I reckon this has far more appeal and long-term prospects than the 213!!!! Good luck!
