Ford Sierra Estate ‘GT’ in Belgium. Thought it was a fake badge but is a genuine model line

I have been in Ireland this week, whilst driving down the M1 to Dublin there was a LWB mk1 Transit minibus on a trailer and a bit later I saw a transporter full of dull new cars except for the Cavalier estate at the rear of the bottom deck. On the way back north  there was a mk1 Golf convertible, then further north a tidy looking mk2 Sierra driving along, not far from the Sierra I saw a very nice looking late model Senator in use. Also driving off the ferry into Belfast was a very nice LHD Volvo 740 estate. Driving home from Birkenhead in the docks was a yard with scrap mini shells stacked up which looked like a scene from the 1980’s.

Some lovely stuff at the Lakeland Motor Museum yesterday, including former Shiter, and former banger racer, Dave862 with his newly-acquired 1960 Wolseley 15/60.  I sat in it.  Tis very lovely.

A very shonky looking green Citroen Ax yesterday, not a car you see many of these days

I tried so hard to get a sneaky shot of it but although he came off at the M8 at the same junction as me it was too busy to get near anywhere near it.

A really tidy bright red Y reg Alfa Romeo Alfetta sedan, and he wasn't hanging about either, I was doing 80+ and wasn't gaining on him.  Any Scottish Shiters seen it before?

Just seen a blue LHD Citroen DS, ADW ***K. Looked sharp.

Three-door R8 Rover 200, leaving ASDA in Cannock this morning.  Looking very smart in bright red.

2 this morning already! A taupe Moggy that I've not seen around before, and a Daimler SP250, both on the move. I've not even left for my Pompey trip yet.

Posted

On way back, A27, a red Mk2 Jag. Towing a caravan. Nutter.

One month ago I saw 2.0 GL Sierra MNH970Y on the back of a beavertail.

SORN'd then, now tax'd and MOT'd.

Someone’s fucked it. Of course.
Yours for £6k

A tidy (& fruity sounding) red Mk3 Fiesta XR2i just went past my CCTV, unfortunately its not recording at the moment..

And a white Corvette with a thick red stripe across the bonnet & down the sides (a pace car?) just went past in the rain (as I`m watching a Vice Grip Garage video on YT), I`m guessing there's a show on in north London?

Last Saturday in Croyde Bay Devon I saw a Daewoo Espero, couldn’t take a pic even though I saw it twice because I had passengers.  Looked like hipster surfer type driving it.

250 miles up from Devon today was a tad disappointing. Did have a pair of ringers for my R reg, green 940 estate. Not a lot of other stuff other than a Mk 4/5 four door Cortina in full rally kit (Rothmans signage I think) which went the other way on the M4.

In lanzarote with the family (lots of very old camper vans will do some pics eventually). Sat outside a restaurant last night and an immaculate mk4 spitfire with hardtop went past going like fuck. Brought a smile to my face anyhow.

Hard to tell through all the spray and pissing rain. :-) I was looking at all the poor bastards coming/going on their holidays in the glorious* summer weather and the Cortina sneaked past in a flash - looked pristine, bright white internal roll cage that made it stand out.  That and the fact that I've no memory of Mk 4/5 Cortinas in motorsport but, by that era, I had the hormones and was oggling gurls instead of cars.

I seem to remember there was a Rothmans Cortina with a wide arch kit featured in Max Power or Fast Car back in the 90`s, possibly with a massive sound system?

Keir roundabout near Stirling seems to be a good place for me to see good spots.

Today - Opel Manta on a trailer and literally 20 seconds later a Triumph Acclaim.

Posted

2 Caterham 7's, one OTR and the other in a lockup.

So far today - a gold Hillman Imp southbound and a Mk2 Renault 5 northbound  both within 30 seconds of each other on the M90.
