Slartibartfast Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 I don't know but I'll search for ant links to dave and remove them.
Slartibartfast Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 OK, at the foot of the page it says "Autoshite Skin by DaveB47". There is an option to remove that in the board config but I felt that was rather mean spirited since he did, indeed, make the skin.
NorfolkNWeigh Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Ah yes, that must be it. Told you I'd got sausage fingers , but how I managed to click on that right in the corner, I don't know. Sorry to have mentioned it now, it just confused me. Slartibartfast 1
mk2_craig Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Mobile version, Android phone. Theres a Full Version button bottom left, but just redirects back to the mobile version.

Can we keep the acknowledgement but maybe break the link?
uk_senator Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 I rarely got email notifications & hadnt had any for many months, then all of a sudden I started getting them for 2 topics last week, one of which keeps filling my email up (ebay tat), trouble is, when I click on the unsubscribe button, nowt happens... This is on Google Chrome. M'coli 1
Slartibartfast Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 I'll investigate why the unsubscribe option doesn't work. I'm also curious to know where that & came from. & ?Posting amerpands in the comment box in browser appears to work.Edit: are you getting the notifications via Tapatalk?
uk_senator Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 The & comes about when you edit your reply, for some reason it adds "amp;" after every ampersand every time you edit your reply. Same thing happens if you use the £ symbol. Also, when I do a post with several paragraphs, it ignore them & crams it all together when posted first time, then it recognises the separate paragraphs if/when you edit anything on that post. I`ve no idea what tapatalk is!
uk_senator Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 nbsp;I'll investigate why the unsubscribe option doesn't work. I'm also curious to know where that &came from? Posting amerpands in the comment box in browser appears to work. Edit: are you getting the notifications via Tapatalk?nbsp; Oh, & every time I quote anyone, it adds "nbsp;" at the beginning & end of each quote.. And I have only ever been able to add 1 picture at a time using the second "choose file" button, have to then add any subsequent pictures by editing my reply & adding them 1 at a time. All slightly odd behaviour, but I try to remember to delete all the additions. I dunno whether its a quirk with Chrome & the site hoster resulting in page source exposures, if you know what I mean..
SiC Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Does it do it when you disable the rich text editor mode? I.e. when not in mobile click the little switch on the far left corner of the panel above the box you write your text. I suspect it may be that which is doing it. Also what browser and operating system do you use?

M'coli Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 Can I just mention a good thing? I used to get an email if someone sent me a PM, but since about January or February if someone sent me a PM I wouldn't get an email to notify me. This has been fixed with the board migration and once again I get email notifications - thanks ever so much! Slartibartfast 1
Captain Furious Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 I have to say the board is noticeably quicker on the new server, top work. tooSavvy 1
Stanky Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 Thanks CF - the server is hosted in the UK - what is performance like for our international members, relative to how it was prior to Slartibartfast and I taking the reins? I *think* the old server was hosted somewhere in the US previously but could be wrong.

I *think* the old server was hosted somewhere in the US previously but could be wrong.I'm in Mo Sterling's fatherlands (or thereabouts) and the performance and reliablity of the forum is spot-on. I thought the old server was a piece of physical kit hosted in Dave's loft?
trigger Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 The forum seems much faster. I normally struggle to upload any images over 7MB on here but last night it was whizzing through some at over 11MB. Mucho improvement.
Slartibartfast Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 I thought the old server was a piece of physical kit hosted in Dave's loft? It may have been at one time, but I believe that at least circa the planned upgrade to Invision Power Borad v4 (which was abandoned due to very poor performance) he upgraded to a hosted server. If the host he used is the one he recommended to us it was based stateside.

tinribs Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) Still there, you have to tick the box beside "Show 'Edit by' line". Edited June 13, 2017 by blyteee
