Fairly certain that making it an offence to drive a foreign-regd car in the UK, woukd be a breach of EU free movement rules. If you cross any border in any car something is going to be 'foreign' innit whether it's you, the car or both. Ignore the armchair lawyers and celebrate the joy of the single shite market!!!!

 

 

In 2001 I bought a new RHD transit from belgium , I was told as long as it was insured on the chassis number it would be legal for me to drive it from the docks to my home address with no plates on at all or for £100 I could have it registered on belgian plates and insure it on them

 

Thinking every copper I passed on the M62 would spit their tea out as I flew past with no plates on I went for the belgian plates option so it wasn't illegal then, whether it is now I don't know
