The plan should be:

Matte black

Cut springs

Banded steels

Then sell on RR for £750 but expecting at LEAST 100 replies of "why do you have to be the other end of the country" when your probably under an hour from the person and " I'll have this as soon as my 1999 golf rat look sells for £3k mate".

As for a car their totally and utterly awful but actually really good sellers on the used market, cheap to own/run.

Had a 2001 one in stock a couple of years ago -took FOREVER to shift despite being very cheap and it kept breaking whilst I tried to find a buyer!

4 months mot, goes where you point it, saves waiting for a bus. Can't see anything wrong with it.

That looks like stevie wonder and Ray charles painted it with a dead chicken and a cricket bat

A free car is a free car- end of.

The most dreadful cars I've ever owned were 'free.' This looks quite good by comparison! Mind you, I have a sizeable soft spot the ol' Matiz. Fantastic looking things.

That is by far not the worst car I have ever seen I bought my step son a daihatsu Domino for 25quid from a scrappy after he wrote off his escrote 1 days tax and 1 months not flew through the test and sold the following year for 80 quid (only got rid because it needed an exhaust)

outstanding bombing old chap

There must be a calendar pic in there someplace, like parked up outside a posh restaurant or a BMW stealership

I think we should get some pictures of our shite cars somewhere posh and make the calendar a real thing

I do think an actual photo shoot of the truly gopping-yet-treasured shite belonging to some of the bravest souls on the board should take place in the car park of a stately manor house or something.

no bonnet in the scrapyard for earlier matiz,so time to get out the fibreglass filler,go pound shop for paint roller, have found a good color match to the bonnet in aldi, only tin they had left, dark green metal paint, should be fun, changed air filter, did spark plugs, need a new ht lead a piece of it came of,just shove it back on for now, still running..

I love how the battery is held in place.

That's not overspray on the tyre.

They've intentionally painted some of the tyre to make the steel wheel look like it's the same size as the alloy.

You can't, it's got none.

Thinking back to some of the rusting, leaking liabilities I owned in the '90s I can honestly say that I've owned worse, and paid for them too.

Top purchase, errrr, skip diving or whatever

It's neither. The silver bits reflect the casting of the wheel, it actually is that round! It's a alloy that looks like a steel.

it even has locking wheelnuts, the other alloy is in ze boot, even has jvc stereo.. :-D

If you can make it a magic eye picture as well, we can end the drugs trade overnight.

My missus had three of these on the trot, all new, a copper bronze 'W' reg, a silver '02' and a blue '07' and the first two were great little cars. The last one was utter shit and sold after less than a year but it was a Chevrolet by then and 4 cylinders and dreadful with none of the buzzy charm the earlier had. Top buying (er, sort of).

It's about time someone embraced the Matiz, bought one with potential, and restored it to mint condition for future generations to marvel at.

Said no one.

Ever.
