Popular Post Cavcraft Posted November 18, 2016 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2016 Not an easy thing to say, and hopefully it won't cause a shit storm, but it needs to be said: People get pissed off with AS, just like other forums and things in life. Hey ho, shit happens. It's not good if people go as a forum is only as good as the users etc, but we do get a few requests here and there to delete people's (own) accounts and posts.Seemingly this causes loads of grief/hard work and f*cks this board up and to be brutally honest it's not going to happen. As above, it's a shame if people go but if you can't stand it any more or don't like a certain user, or users, then please just don't ask or expect people to remove your account or your posts. Log off, take a short or long term or pemanent break from the place and see how you feel, but messaging asking to be removed or complaining about someone else does get really tiring. Reporting posts for offensive stuff and blatant trolling is one thing, telling us someone was having a chip at you because you don't like them is another. That is 100% NOT a chip at any past or former users, and if you think it is then tough shit, because you're wrong. We've surely all missed someone when they've left, and lots of good people have gone, but constant whining/feet stamping/asking to be removed isn't helping. It really isn't helping. Appreciate all that sounds snotty/twattish/whatever, sorry. DeeJay, UltraWomble, wuvvum and 55 others 58

The first 99% of their posts were gr9. NB. Can someone please post a link to a YouTube video of Cameo? The thread is incomplete without it. Thank you please. For Fiats Sake Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 All men are created equal - we are all cunts. (some women are too, which makes them double cunts). Some people take pleasure in getting a rise out of folks on the internetz they are digital cunts. so whether you are a digital cunt, a double digital cunt or just a plain old cunt the sooner you realise everyone including yourself is a cunt the more miserable happier you will be. Also life is mainly shit, just a few words of truth from your friendly neighbourhood spiderman fellow cuntist. I will be very annoyed if I don't make the cunt list top ten. Dave_Q and John F 2
Twiggy Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I appreciate the work that the mods do here. Basically it is a somewhat thankless task, since it is almost always unseen. I hope I speak for the vast majority of shiters when I say a big thank you to them all, particularly Dave, without whom the site would probably not exist. Split_Pin Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I care not one jot who stays or goes, as long as there's stuff about old, shit motors I'll hang around. I don't envy your role here Billy, I've been a Forum Admin/moderator before and I would never do it again. strangeangel, oldcars, Cavcraft and 1 other 4
vulgalour Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 2016 has seen many familiar folk wandering off to pastures new. Some with and some without announcement. It's sad. We should all just get along, or at the very worst have a little bicker, and enjoy* our old cars. Top tip: never volunteer to organise anything. It's a thankless task and people only notice when you're doing it wrong*. myglaren, Banger Kenny, DodgyBastard and 4 others 7

dieselassist Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 "we do get a few requests here and there to delete people's (own) accounts and posts" ...seems like a lotta work alright for mods to go and delete someone's 'however-many' posts; cant the 'strop thrower' take some time n do this for him/herself, simply by searching their own username, if that's what they want??? ...instead of delete ling their accounts/username; Rank; 'doesn't think the place is what it used to be' or something - their account can be reactivated or whatever later down the line after they've cooled off/ had a breath of fresh air /dragged home worthless n forgotten car, n wants to tell like minded folk about it on some faraway site on the aul t'internet ... just a suggestion. Fair play to Dave et all who keep this place running; you have my respect n gratitude....

SiC Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 The problem with deleting users, is that it makes existing threads all muddled and confusing. Also Google/wayback machine/et al have cached stuff anyway. Of course this doesn't stop someone manually going thru and deleting all their posts on here. Cavcraft 1

Split_Pin Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I don't understand why someone would want their account deleted other than to flag the fact that they have 'left'. Seems like it causes a right old hubbub with the IT side of things. I certainly wouldn't feel bad about just ignoring such requests together with 'he said she said' types of thing. I'll repeat, cracking job done by all concerned. strangeangel, Cavcraft and alf892 3
