Followed by a 'Sabrina' ERF. :-D

More 'perky' than the Sabrinas on a Hawker Hunter too.

Early days but I LOVE IT

You'll be noticing the extra grunt I'm sure: the 500 pulls well. Better than the earlier 520 I reckon, it was hopeless off the boost. Even with variable everything, 12-13L engines aren't much cop over 500 I think. They actually need to be 15-16L to make that sort of power make sense.

I posted this before the 'realignment', so here it is again: last week's truck shite. A tatty tipper I quite enjoyed...because manual box.

There were 8 Ford D series, eight of the fuckers

Just recently there was this X reg Scanny for sale at Reliable in Newbridge. Inverness reg, but debadged...so I'd put two and two together and come up with eight. V8. Probably interstellar mileage, but it won't matter too much...

17.2 L V8s those Fiats Have. I have a 1/24 Iveco Turbostar which is the last incarnation of that Fiat Design and the v8 engine has Fiat badges on the rocker covers. Also has 2 Turbos!

My favourite manual gearbox video has to be of a Jamaican Leyland Reiver called The Incredible Hulk. Amazing to listen to the indefatigable little 411 pulling the 39 tons of sand on its back.

These are NOT my pictures, I have copied them from a certain UK truck website.... It has a very interesting thread on old Scrapped Lorries, I will post the link if I am allowed to? But if not, It is well worth a look.

Whoops.  WTF happened there?  Low bridge?

I have no idea what happened, I first happened  to see it in a salvage auction & tonight by chance, I found the pictures of it pre accident. But I agree....WTF happened there??? Sore one none the less.

Fuck me, that's grim. Even if dicks trying to get out of laybys is an occupational hazard (as is people flinging stuff off bridges at you, which was going to be probably inappropriate 'witty' response), that's far beyond the pale.

Anyhoo...spotted this in passing the other day. Marathon cabbed rigid I thought: most unusual. Upon closer inspection (and after scrambling through the nettles) it's odder than that. Longish wheelbase double drive with a heavy, fabricated front bumper with heavy duty hitch. And AEC badging. And what looks to me from a distance, like a 14L Cummins with a Jake Brake. Gawd alone only knows what it is: I'm guessing somebody's home brewed heavy haulage/recovery mutt.

Officers raced to the scene and spoke to Thomson who said: “It didn’t work, I’m still here.â€

Suicide attempt??
